Miraculous Slumber Party

~Chapter 12~

Dressed in his silk-black suit, Cat Noir leapt out the window.

I just have to see Marinette one more time tonight. He thought as he hid in the bushes behind the spa where Alya, Nino, and Marinette still were.

"Gosh it's hot in here!" Alya said fanning herself, "I'm going in the pool! At least it will be cooler in there!"

"The pool isn't heated so if you jump in all at once you'll get a massive shock from the different temperature," Marinette offered to her friend that was already getting out of the spa.

"I'll get in using the stairs," Alya reassured her, and dragged her boyfriend with her.

"Wait for me!" Marinette said jumping out of the spa and running along the side of the pool.

"Watch out!" Cat Noir yelled a warning and leapt forward out of the bushes. The pool edge was slippery and as Marinette was running she slipped and plunged headlong into the icy cold water.

Her scream filled the air followed by a splash. Less than a second later Cat Noir splashed in after her. Cat Noir's arm encircled her waist as he brought her back up to the surface.  Alya started screaming from the other side of the pool and swam as fast as she could towards the superhero. He placed her on the tiles and quickly lifted her chin up.

"She's taken in water," he said frantically as a small crowd gathered around them.

He leant down and started performing mouth to mouth with the blue-haired girl.

Chloe came rushing up behind him in between breaths and quickly covered Marinette's body with a yellow towel.

"Marinette! Marinette, please wake up!" Alya cried holding Marinette's limp hand.

Suddenly Marinette let out a splutter and coughed up a mouthful of water.

"Cat Noir?" she croaked as she looked up into his eyes.

"Marinette!" Alya pushed Cat Noir into the pool and stooped down to hug her best friend, "That stupid Cat saved your life you know?" she said when Marinette asked why Cat Noir was kneeling overtop of her.

Cat Noir's head bobbed up to the surface of the water. His wet blond hair stuck to his face and he shook it dry. 

"Thank you Cat Noir," Marinette breathed.

"No problem Marinette." he smiled at his best friend, "I was patrolling and you know say you fall in," he tried to make up a good excuse but he was fresh out of them due to the stunning blue eyes staring up at him.

"I've got... I've gotta go," he stuttered and gave everyone a quick wave and extended his pole to lift him into the Paris night sky.

He detransformed on the steps from Chloe's hotel to the pool.

"What happened?" he asked Alya who was helping Marinette sit up.

"She fell in the pool and Cat Noir saved her doing CPR," Nino explained then he whispered, "Bro you're not jealous are you?"

Adrien blushed and then shook his head, "No, I'm happy she's okay," he extended his hand to Marinette and she gingerly took it. He led her to a sun chair and sat her down.

"You don't have to sit with me Adrien," she said as he sat on the chair beside her.

"No it's fine. I want to sit here with you," he plainly responded.

Adrien wants to sit with me! Marinette's thoughts screamed to herself. I can't believe Cat Noir saved my life and THEN Adrien wants to spend all this time with me!

She started shaking and wrapped the towel around her shoulders tighter.

"Hey?" Adrien said taking her hand, "If you are getting cold just say and I can help you back to the lounge?"

"No, no! I can go myself!" Marinette says getting up.

"I'm coming with you Mari," Adrien said walking up the steps with her.
