Chapter 16

Tears streamed down Marinette's face as she ran home sobbing.

Coming up beside her Tikki said, "You should have given him a chance to explain himself Marinette."

"No Tikki. Every time is the same. sHe'S jUsT a FrIeNd!" Marinette mimicked and reached for the door handle to the bakery.

"Marinette you aren't supposed to be home until 5pm tomorrow!" Tikki stopped her, "You parents would wonder why you were back for the night!"

"You're right Tikki, we can't stay here." she said and smile softly, "I don't want to talk to anyone but you right now."

"Maybe we should go back and-"

"I think we should go away somewhere. Tikki Spots on!" Marinette said and transformed into Ladybug.

Hoisting herself up with her yo-yo she stood on to of the Eiffel Tower, "The real Ladybug will be back soon Paris."

Back at Chloe's dad's hotel Adrien was sitting on the floor of the bathroom, crying.

"PUH-lease Adrien!" Plagg whispered, "It's just a girl! That you have probably now lost forever."

"But Plagg I messed up. What is wrong with me?"

"Like the woman said, you are blind Adrien," Plagg muttered.

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing! I was just saying that this could have been your chance and you blew it!" Plagg said ready to give him a lecture, "OK. What does Alya mean to you?"

"My friend,"

"Good, and who is Nino?"

"My best friend,"

"Okay, and who is Marinette?"

"Just a-" Adrien stopped himself.

Suddenly Plagg slapped him clean across the face, "Adrien! You're not admitting that you like the girl! Saying she's just a friend is like your defense mechanism." Plagg said angerly. Too bad the dinosaurs didn't have one of those. He chuckled to himself, "Now you've blown it."

"Maybe Ladybug will-"

"But Marinette and Ladybug are-" Plagg shoved his hands in his mouth to stop himself from talking.

"Marinette and Ladybug are friends Plagg," The Blind Agreste said finishing Plagg's outburst.

Smacking his head against the bathroom sink Plagg groaned.

"Maybe I should try to contact her," Adrien said and pulled out his phone.

Me: Hey Marinette. I'm super sorry about what I said...

Marinette: Don't be sorry Adrien. I overreacted. But I meant what I said, you should really focus on your girlfriend instead of getting someone else's hopes up.

Me: I'm sorry Marinette.

Me: Marinette?

Me: I hope that your okay....

Adrien sighs and he looks at Plagg.

"No, no Adrien! Don't even think about it!"

"Plagg, Claws Out!" Adrien said becoming Chat Noir.

Silently he opened the bathroom door and crept across the mattresses of the sleeping class and slunk out the window.
