   Y/N'S POV

  I was never a fan of parties. Never. While my friends always asked around for where the best parties occurred on campus, I always preferred to be in my bedroom or anywhere else on campus. I was okay with that. I was, but the only reason why I found myself at this particular party right now was because of my husband, Jakob Toretto.
  Apparently, Jakob had some very important matters to handle here tonight. I didn't know what those "very important matters" were, but I knew that I wasn't going to let Jakob leave without me. The second I saw Jakob walk outside, I was going to be right behind him.

  Otto nudged me and said to me,"Y/N, go dance! Enjoy yourself!"

  I stared at Otto, which caused Otto to clear his throat and look away from me.

  When Otto looked back at me, he asked me,"What's wrong with you, Y/N?"

  I admitted to Otto,"I hate parties. I hate them."

  Otto chuckled and said,"I can see that, but you shouldn't hate them."

  I asked Otto,"Why shouldn't I hate parties, Otto?"

  Otto motioned to everything that was going on around him and said,"They're good distractions, Y/N. Who doesn't need a good distraction?"

  I shook my head and walked inside to find Jakob. Jakob was just standing in front of the bar looking at something.

  I walked up to him and said,"Hey, Jakob. You okay?"

  Jakob turned around and sent me a smile.

  Jakob pecked my lips and said,"Hey. I'm okay, Y/N. Thank you. Enjoying the party?"

  I shook my head and said,"No. You know how I feel about parties, Jake. I'd rather be at home reading a really good book right now."

  Jakob rested his hands on my arms saying,"I know how you feel about parties, but I just didn't want you to be at home by yourself."

  I told Jakob,"Jake, you can't protect me from everything. It wasn't your fault that some random person decided to break into our home that day. That happened a year ago. Don't dwell on that too much."

  Jakob squeezed my arms and said,"I'll try not to think about it so much, but I'm just glad that you're here unharmed."

  I said,"I'm glad that I'm here unharmed, too, Jake. Now, how long are we going to be here? I have to have enough time to sit around and do nothing at home after I read a really good book."

  Jakob laughed and motioned for me to sit down.

  I asked Jakob,"Why do you want me to sit down, all of a sudden?"

  Jakob said,"I just want to keep talking to you for a minute. Is that all right?"

  I sat down and said,"Of course, that's all right. What is it?"

  Jakob offered me a drink, but I just said,"No, thank you. I'd rather not drink anything."

  Jakob nodded and asked me,"Do you remember what all I promised you?"

  I stood to my feet and wrapped my arms around Jakob's neck saying,"I remember, but I'm already happy, Jakob. You don't have to buy me certain things to make me happy. Okay?"

  Jakob rubbed my back and said,"I know, Y/N. I know, but I want to give you everything that I promised you. I have to be a man of my word."

  I kissed Jakob's nose. Jakob smiled and continued to rub my back.

  I said to Jakob,"You'll always be a man of your word, Jakob. I've never thought otherwise, but you do what you want to do. I just don't want you to think that I'm going to leave you if you don't give me what all you promised me."

  Jakob rested his forehead against my forehead and said,"I know that you would never leave my side. I know that, but I have to talk to Dom now."

  I stepped back from Jakob and looked at Dom. I wondered how long Dom had been standing there.

  Dom said to me,"Y/N, it's good to see you. It's been a long time."

  I said,"It has been a long time. What are you two-"

  Jakob kissed my forehead and said,"I'll see you outside, Y/N. We'll go home after I have a little chat with Dom."

  I nodded and looked between Jakob and Dom, before I walked outside.

  Otto asked me,"Did you get kicked out, Y/N?"

  I said,"Yeah. What's going on? Why's Dom here?"

  Otto said,"Your husband will tell you everything, Y/N. You just have to be a little patient."

  I crossed my arms and said,"Fine, I'll be patient. I can be patient."

  Otto laughed at me, so I knocked his drink out of his hand.

  Otto said,"You give me a really big headache. Are you aware of that?"

  I laughed and rested my hand on Otto's shoulder saying,"I'm aware of that. It looks like you're needed, though, Otto."

  I moved my hand from Otto's shoulder, then I watched him go inside. Given the increase in men that were also headed inside, I couldn't wait to hear what all of this was about. If something big was going on, I wasn't going to be able to go home tonight.
