I have been up since 5 and left the house at 5:30 but this is all worth it.
I have been in the car for about three hours and I still had two and half to go. I was driving to San Diego to pick up an engagement ring. I am going to propose to Holland. we had spoke of marriage and we both agreed that we would like that, however the conversation never came up again. I want to, I'm sure why, but I feel down, within me that I need to. I love her, nothing more to say.
We were in San Diego about a year ago, and while looking around we went into this beautiful little antique shop. Holland fell in love with this ring, but didn't buy it because she thought it was too expensive, she also said that she had no reason for it.
I never thought that I would be the one to propose, if I'm being honest. holland had always been the more dominate and mature one in the relationship, she's the protector, the calm within this storm of a world. For once I wanted her to see how much she meant to me, even if I try to show it as much as I possibly can.
I was about and hour away when I got a phone call.
💕ht💕: is calling
I took a couple of deep breaths and picked up the phone.
'hi honey!'
'hi darling. how are you?'
'just perfect. you?'
'I'm good. you're sounding awfully happy'
'oh um.. I just had one of those Oreo milkshakes'
really Sarah that's all you could think of
'I'm not surprised then, you're always over the moon when you have those'
'yeah. so why are you calling?'
'well I'm bored. so I came home and you weren't there. where are you?'
panic
'I'm going to see my mother'
'but isn't your mother in Florida'
shit
'no she flew down a few days ago'
'you should bring her over for dinner then'
'no no that's okay, I haven't seen you in like 30 hours so I need some us time'
'oh darling', holland replied laughing
'okay well I'm about to park, ill see you tonight'
'okay sweetheart. I love you'
'I love you more'
'I love you most'
'impossible'
'nothings impossible', she said then ending the call

about forty-five minutes later I arrived at the store and it was coming to around 11:30.
"hi I have a ring on hold for Paulson?"
"yes perfect!, let me just get that for you"
she walked back out holding the box and handing it to me
"is this what you wanted?"
"oh its perfect! thank you"
"no problem hun. so your total will come to $6240"
"yep, great. thank you again", I said paying and walking out the door and immediately driving home
