You slammed your locker door shut, turning to look at your friend, "I'm not going."
"(Y/n)! It's literally our senior prom!" (Random/n) whined, pushing off of the wall to follow you as you tried to escape her persuasion, "Come on!"
"I'm about to be out of here for good. Why do I want to see everyone in one place." You mused.
She rolled her eyes, "You're such a kill joy."
You grinned, sending her a wink and turning into your next class, "I try my best."
You slid into your seat, (R/n) jumping in next to you, "It's literally masquerade themed, (Y/n). We get to live out the life of like...half of the romance films."
You giggled, "That is pretty cool, I'm not gonna lie..."
(R/n) smirked, pulling out her laptop, you mimicking her actions, before continuing. "We can be totally hot and tell all these haters to go fuck themselves one more time."
"We still have two more months after prom, stupid."
The bell rang, cutting off the conversation as you turned to face to front. Your teacher walked in, tapping a ruler against the black board.
"Good morning, class-"
The door slammed open and someone you had yet to see before walked in, wincing slightly at the noise. "Sorry..."
"Right on time...not." The professor clicked their, pointing at the new student. "Everyone meet (Character/n). Just moved in from...somewhere unimportant. Please have a seat in front of (Y/n)."
You hid your smile at the surprised look on their face before they sauntered down the row of desks, eyes meeting yours, until sitting at the empty chair. You gazed at (R/n), lipping "damn", but when a cleared throat called your attention shot forward.
"Do you...have a pen I could borrow?" You bit back a smile, eyes dancing around their face, before leaning forward and plucking a pen from the side of their ear, holding it out to them. "I should probably double check before trying to start conversation with the cute girl behind me."
You closed your eyes for a few seconds, hoping your face wasn't turning a shade of red before opening them and chuckling, "That would save you from a few awkward encounters." As they grasped the writing utensil, you held onto it for a little longer, "(Y/n)."
They grinned, "(C/n)."

"I still can't believe you didn't choke on your words or have, like, a breakdown." (R/n) fell into the bench in the courtyard, biting into an apple.
"What can I say?" You licked your finger before pointing to your other arm, making a hissing sound, "I'm just that hot."
She let out a loud laugh, then gesturing across the courtyard, "Looks like someone found a nice group of friends." You rolled your eyes. (C/n) was being led to a picnic table surrounded with the most popular girls and boys in your school by a tall, blond cheerleader/football player (choose whichever fits ur character mwah). "They look like they'll fit in just fine."
Your eyes met (C/n)'s and you send a tight-lipped smile followed my a short wave, before avoiding eye contact and starting a new conversation with your friend.

As you closed your locker, (C/n) was leaning against it and you let out a small curse. "Geez, man, you're going to give me a heart attack."
Chortling (C/n) gave a small apology before holding up their schedule. "I may or may not have over heard your and your friends conversation...but you do have forensics next period, right?"
You raised an eyebrow, peaking at their page before smirking, "That I do, follow me." You turned to lead the way and they instantly came to your side. "Hows your first day going?"
"It's going."
You nodded, elbowing them slightly, "I saw you walking with (Another random/n) (LMAO SORRY IDK)," you winked once you caught their eye, "I didn't see you as a cheerleader/football type."
They sent you an awkward laugh in return, "Nah they, uh- they just wanted to make me feel included I don't, I wouldn't like them like that."
A wave of relief washed over you and you stepped with a little more pep, "Glad I don't have much competition, then." You instantly waved off your comment as a joke before hurriedly pointing to your class and rushing into it. You pulled out a chair at a lab table, trying to come up with a conversation starter as they took the seat at the second lab chair. As soon as you opened your mouth the question their favorite color, they spoke.
"Do you have any plans for prom?"
"Nope." You popped your 'p', "I was probably just going to order in food and watch (fav/show)...that is if (R/n) can't drag me out."
"Sounds like a vibe." (C/n) concluded, "That's how almost all of my weekends are though."
You barked a laugh, "You? No, you look like you have some awesome, Pinterest-worthy plans everyday."
They shook their head with a grin, "I wish..." (C/n) suddenly began looking anywhere else but you. "If you don't end up going to prom...would you mind if I tag along with you? For the movie night, I mean."
You stared at them, mouth slightly agape, for a little over a minute before you cleared your throat and nodded rapidly, "One hundred percent," You sang, "Only if I don't get any weird-murder-rapist vibes from you till then."
(C/n)'s shot up in surrender before winking, "Got it, I won't let you find out about that side of me till then."
A/n: this really sucks i'm sorry ... i had no inspo for this ):
i started hating it less than half way through and i didn't want to delete it all so whoops but mwah ty
