"Yes!"I clapped and gave God a thanks.He has done his job right!As always!
I haven't said anything to my Aunt and Uncle about Logan's mom and her issue with black people.So by doing that tonight's dinner was at Red Lobster...with the Henson's.Again.
"Can I get a really big bowl of ice-cream,please?Thanks."I said and handed the waiter the menu.But instead this white botch was so into Logan that the poor thing nearly tripped twice and ran into four diffrent people.Sad isn't it?I sat by Logan and Uncle Leo while Aunt Linda and Logan's mom sat together along side of Logan's dad.I was really surprised that she didn't say anything to me tonight.But that went full wrong when she went insane and couldn't take it anymore.She just had to tell.
"So Linda and Leon how do you feel if let's say one of your ken was dating someone a bit within long reach of color?"She asked while patting the sides of her lips with a napkin.She wasn't.
"I'm actually pretty fine with it.Why do you ask?"The waiter came back with my bowl of vinilla ice cream with the hot caramel placed ontop.
"Oh no reason.Just wondering.Hey Logan sweetie,didn't I hear you say that you had a friend that was dating a black girl?"I looked up at Logan but contuied to eat.Becuase I knew where this was headed.
"Yes ma'am."
"Oh just checking."She better not tell it."And didn't I see
"Amanda where is this leading up to?"Uncle Leo asked.
"Amanda."Logan's dad said to try to stop her from saying it.But it came out anyways.
"I don't appreciate you letting your niece date my son."
"Well what do you mean,Amanda?"My Uncle Leo stared raising his voice by the minute.He knew what I knew.But Auntie Linda said nothing,she was still confused.
"Wait wait wait.Amanda what are you saying?"She held this gaze in her eyes then looked at me.Making me speak before Logan's mom beat me to on it.
"She don't want-"I looked at Logan then back at her."She don't want me to date Logan because I'm as black girl who comes from the south."
"Breasha!"My Aunty Linda says.But I just keep going.
"She dispises me with everything she gots.She knew that me and Logan had something from the get go,but she didn't want to belive that her white son would want a black girl."
"Breasha " My Uncle Leo says to me but I don't hold back.
"Your so wrapped up on what your mother thinks and trying to please her that you are afraid of making your own choices.And I am quite frankly tired of playing pretend like I don't see the hatred in her eyes when she look at me.I heard yall talking in the room."Everyone got quiet.And I saw the look on Amanda's face.So I told it.
"Breasha would you stop!"
"No you need to hear me out.Your best friend is nothing but a low down,hell starting snake.This God FEARING WOMAN!-"I took a look around and slighty laughed."has racism stuck in her through the flesh and to the core.She hates me because I'm black."
"Your right.Becuase us Henson's never expect anythi but the best.And your nothing but trash.You think that little t.v. show your on matters?You think your really the shit,huh?Your not.Your nothing!Your a nobody.Nobody but a ruthless colored girl."I was steaming mad.Your opinion was one thing but Logan was sitting there not opening his mouth!Really?!
"Me or her?"Of all the commotion going on I only focused on him.He held a blank stare.He didn't care.Okay good fine.
