Chapter 12

Shain and Shay walked out of the elevator in an apartment building, in Manhattan. As they walked down the hall, Shain lead the way and turned back at shay as they reached a door "come on."

"I'm only doing this for Aaron."

"just ring the doorbell."

Shay pressed on the button with her long fake nails. Then the two waited for a second when the big door cracked open and a short housekeeper greeted them. Shain then responded "Hey Kelly is Nate home?" Kelly the housekeeper retorted "Miss Campbell it's nice to see you, yes he is, but he said he doesn't want visitors." Shay impatiently cut in "We're not visiting, this is an important matter tell him to get his ass out here."

Shain exclaimed "Shay! Kelly don't mind her just tell him I'm here."

Kelly escorted them to the living room "You can wait here and I'll go see what I can do."

After Kelly left, Shay looked around the large room "you didn't tell me he was a "Blake"." Shain casually replied to her younger cousin "you never asked so I didn't bother."

As Nate walked in with his hands in his pockets looking annoyed, Shain stood up "Hey buddy. You're looking good." Nate glanced at Shay and then back at Shain "why is she here, did ..." Shay put her hand up towards Nate and interrupted him "Save it Sherlock. I'm not here for you, but I am willing to agree to treat you as a civilized human on several conditions." Shain still looking at Nate "There are no conditions. We are here to clear things up between you and Aaron." Nate breathing deeply "No". Shay whispered loudly under her breath "Fuck-boy"

Nate glared at Shay, about to snap at her because of what he heard her say. But before he could, Shain pulled him and made him sit on the sofa "come on, just watch one video and if you're still not convinced we will leave."

"Fine"

Shay pulled out her iPad and played the video. It showed the footage from the party. Shay kept skipping to Aaron, to show him the proof that Michael and Aaron didn't hook up. There was a part where Michael was dancing near her but with another girl.

Shay looked at Nathen from head to toe and said "See, my girl doesn't play around and you better apologies boy!" Shain took a deep breath and said "Just come with us to her party tonight, and it will all work out." Nathen pointed his finger at Shay "Ok but no secret planning stuff, that only ruins everything." Shay grabbed and twisted his finger "don't you point that ugly finger at my face." Nathen winced as he pulled his hand away from her.

The video was still playing and the clip changed to Shain and Charlie in the flower garden. When Shay noticed, she tried to cover the screen, but Shain slapped her hand away and snatched the iPad to see the footage. Shay panicked "No don't look at it. This is not for now, wait till the right moment comes." Shain ignored her and watched the whole thing. After Shain saw the whole clip she turned to Shay "you had this the whole time?"

"you weren't ready to see that ,and you know what. I'm not sorry."

"I'll deal with you later, now we have to go."

When they reached Aaron's party Shay started to give Nathan a pep talk "Listen to me carefully girls like big gestures. So when you go to her embarrass yourself, it builds character and never give up, never back down..." Nate with a straight face cut her off "Are you done?"

Shain quickly started sensing an argument about to start "Ok, let's just get inside." Shay glared at Nate as they walked in "You ungrateful little shit bitch."

When they walked in they saw that Aaron was dancing between a crowd of collage kids, to loud music.

Nathan pointed towards her "see she's happy without me." Shain countered "look at her she is trying to hide her sadness by parting." Then Aaron sat on the couch alone and just leaned back. Then one of her friends walked over to her to comfort her. Nathan realized how wrong he was "okay guys I'm going in." "we are going with you." Shay replied to him.

The three walked over to Aaron, and Shain decided to start "hey Aaron look who's here to apologies."

Aaron looked up saw who it was and looked away "I see no one." Shay pushed Nathen closer "be nice." Shain put a hand on her younger sister's shoulder "Aaron come on, he's sorry." Nathan sat down next to Aaron "Aaron I saw the party's video, I'm sorry I should have believed you when you told me nothing happened."

Aaron still avoiding looking at Nathen "you better be." Shain cut in "Aaron stop being prideful." Shay singing and dancing to the music "lose that pride girl, lose that pride, lose that pride..." Aaron looked over at Nathen "I'm also sorry you didn't believe me." "Aaron!" Shain warrened, As Charlie arrived. So, Shay and Shain decided to give Aaron and Nathan some privacy.

Aaron turned to face him "okay okay, I might have said some mean things and I'm sorry too." Suddenly, she was ambushed by Nathan's warm embrace and at that moment everything felt right for the couple. "I missed you." Whispered Nathen, his warm breath tickling her ears.

"me too." Aaron replied shyly.

Meanwhile Shain was near the mini bar preparing her drink when some random guy came up and started dancing and grinding on her, shocking her. Charley was watching from across the room getting uncomfortable by what he was seeing; he couldn't handle it anymore so he walked over to the guy and sucker punched him. And that made the other guy pissed off, so he started pulling punches too. Which basically turned into a brawl. Aaron sent Nathan to break up the fight which he did, after being hit a few times. Shain took Charles out to calm him down and Aaron took Nathan to her room to tend to his wounds. While the other guy got up and walked over to the corner where Shay was watching patiently as the chaos was dying down. The guy stopped as Shay discreetly handed him his promised money, and then walked away.

Shain pushed Charlie out the door "Are you drunk or just crazy?"

Charley fixing his shirt and hair "How do I look?"

Shain getting irritated "like an idiot."

"sweet."

Shain started yelling at Charlie "Why do you have the need to make a mess, or hurt people when you can just come up to me. I know you like me." Charley too stunned by what he just heard, that he couldn't talk. Shain continued angrily "And everything could have worked out fine because I like you too, but nooo you can't just come up to me and talk like a normal..." Charlie suddenly cut Shain off by shouting back at her "Well I would, if you weren't so damn difficult to deal with." Shain with her voice still raised "That has nothing to do with it. You could have just asked me out." Charlie with the same tone "Fine, do you want to go out with me?" Shain yelled back at him "yeah" Charlie still shouting "okay. Friday night?" Shain also shouting "okay it's a date."

Meanwhile inside the house, in Aaron's room.

Aaron and Nathen were sitting on the edge of her bed facing each other. Aaron was inspecting Nathen's bruises when she broke the silence "thanks for stopping that fight. It could have gotten worse and I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it."

Nathen looked into her eyes and said "That was nothing, I would do anything for you." Aaron stopped for a moment but then smiled and said "really anything?" "I really did learn my lesson. I shouldn't have reacted the way that I did. I guess I was just scared to be with you. But, I can't change the way I feel about you. Aaron I'm in love with you"

Aaron was gently dabbing a pack of ice on Nathan's bruised face while he was speaking. When he finally finished she froze. Nervously Nathen set the ice pack down and held Aaron's hands "Aaron, did you hear me." Aaron snapped out of the daze that she was in "I thought you said you love me" Nathen laughed "I did say that"

"well, I don't know what to say"

"say that you'll take me back"

"I don't know, because you really hurt me, when you didn't believe me. Like a lot, because I realized that I love you too" Nathan started pleading " Please, I promise you that I will never let you down ev-, wait did you just say you love me?" Aaron smirked "yes."

Then Nathan smiled as he pulled her closer to him and kissed her. Finally their lips met for the first time, and there was this spark that both of them felt.
