The Campbells

Chapter 2

Rushing to go back to work, she hastily opened the door to her apartment and accidentally tripped and fell on her face. Then, she heard a familiar voice. "Hey Shain, why am I not surprised that you just tripped". Shain raised her head to be startled by the intruder in her home. She got up and said "what are you doing here?"

From the comfy couch in the living room shay responded "Come sit down I have something to tell you."

Walking towards Shay, Shain added "I don't have time Nate is waiting for me in the car. Wait a minute how did you get in here I just changed the locks last week?" Shay replied smirking "Oo gurl we have our ways."

Shain looking around "Where is she." Paranoid for what her cousin has planned. Suddenly the loud bang of the front door startles Shain making her jump in her place. But it was only her assistant Nathen barging in. "Shain did you call me?" Nate looked confused between the two Campbells.

Shain irritated by what is happening around her "No, I thought I told you to stay in the car."

Nate trying to explain himself "But Shay called and said..."

Shain done with the bullshit that is being served by her family "How many times do I have to tell you to never believe what she says?"

At that moment Shay glared at Nate and said "Anyway we have a situation in your closet."

Shain was just defeated at this point and responded "what did you do?"

Insulted by what Shain just said Shay replied "why do you assume that I did anything, when you know it's always Aarons fault."

smiling smugly at Shay, Nate cut in to the conversation "Shain do you want me to take care of... it?"

Shay glairs at Nate and gives him the look of disgust, annoyance and anger.

Intimidated by Shay's wrath that he might have just unleashed upon himself. "Yes. Aaron did you call me?"

When Aaron heard her name being called she peeked her head out of the hallway.

"Oh Nathan you're here come I need to show you something."

As the pair made their way out of the room, suddenly Shain snapped "Just tell me; give it to me straight what are you up too."

Trying to calm her down Shay started again "everything is under control. Charles is here."

A very confused Shain responded "CHARLES who?"

Then Shay replied "Your old neighbor... Charles."

While the two cousins were talking, out of the blue a stranger walked in.

"Did someone call me?"

Shain looked up and was shocked to see who that familiar voice belongs to. "Oh My God!"

"Hey Shain it's been a long time since I last seen you." Shain stunned to see Charlie Haistings her old childhood friend standing in her living room "Not long enough."

Shay whispering excitedly to herself "it's working".

Charlie folding his arms to his chest and rolling his eyes at her "It's been 8 years seriously get over it." Shain taking a seat annoyed by all this intrusion "just when I thought you were gone for good."

"I'm going to ignore you now because I came here to help Shay. And by the way Shay your plan is working." Shay shocked by his words "What plan?"

Charlie replied "don't play dumb with me. I know you well enough to know when you're playing cupid." Shain rolling her eyes and giving her cousin the side glair.

Shay gave them a conniving smile and said "you think it's working?"

"yeah, you have to see them Aaron and that kid are hitting it off in there." Said Charlie.

Shain stood up abruptly, making her way to her room "I can't even deal with this. Nathan! Nathan!"
