Chapter Five

Allison

"When they say shop till you drop, I thought it was a figure of speech." Maya said as she helped me bring in the bags of clothes we bought.
"I think Carina picked out more clothes for me than I did." I joked.
"That woman loves to shop." Maya agreed.

"Bambinas! What about Chinese food tonight?" Carina asked from the kitchen.
"Sushi for me please!" Maya and I said at the same time.

"That was weird." I said with a laugh.
"We're more alike than we realize." Maya said with a smile.

"Why don't you go put your clothes in your room kid."
I nodded and walked into my bedroom.

Maya

"Oh my God!" I heard Allison yell.
Carina and I shared a smile, and walked into her bedroom.

"You-You two... how?" She asked.
"Remember when you went to hang out with Andy and Dean? They told me everything you liked. They said you really wanted to be a fire fighter. So Carina and I had the team run to the store and buy everything we needed to make your room future fire fighter friendly." I said with a smile.

Her room was already painted red before, and on one wall the Station 19 logo was painted onto it. That was Ben's step son. He was really good at art. There was fire fighter helmets and other decor hanging on the wall.
They even found a bed set that was red to match the walls.

She ran, and engulfed Carina and me into a hug.

"You guys are doing too much." Allison bawled.
"Oh farfalla, we just want you to be happy and comfortable. This is your home too." Carina rubbed her back.

"I love you guys." She sniffed.
"And we love you Allison. I'm really sorry I wasn't there for the past fourteen years. But I promise, I'll be here for the rest of it." I kissed the top of her head.

"Thank you. I don't know what I'd do without you two. I mean, you two have already done more for me than my Mom and Dad have. And I haven't even known you for two full days." She pulled away from the hug, and wiped her eyes.
"Because we love you. And we'll fight to keep you here. We're not letting you go anywhere else." Carina cupped her cheek with her hand, and wiped a tear away.

"Thank you."
"The team is wanting to come over and hang out with you. Is that okay?" I asked.
"Of course." She said with a smile.

"Get changed farfalla, and we'll order food for everyone."

Carina and I walked out of her room, and shut the door.
I quickly wrapped my arms around my girlfriend's waist, and pulled her in for a kiss.
"What was that for?" She asked with a laugh.
"Because you're the best. You've taken this all in stride. I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend."
"I love you bambina."
"I love you too."

Allison

"What's up mini Bishop!" Dean asked as he walked in.
"Dean!" I ran and gave him a hug.
"Hey! Where's my hug?" Andy asked as she walked in.
I quickly engulfed her in a hug too.

"You two are definitely her favorites." Maya said with a laugh.
"Do you like your room Mija?"
"¡Sí! ¡Me encanta! ¡Gracias chicos por todo!" I said excitedly. (Yes! I love it! Thank you guys for everything!)
"Whoa, you can speak Spanish too?" Maya asked.
"Yeah. Another one of my classes I chose."

"You're so smart. I think you're the Bishop with the brains." Dean said with a laugh.
"Hey! We're both smart!" Maya joked.

"Farfalla! Can Maya and I talk to you in your room for one minute?" Carina asked.
I nervously followed them as they shut the door behind us.
"Whatever I did I'm sorry! I didn't mean to I won't do it again!" I quickly rambled out.
"Oh no you're not in trouble kid. We just wanted to let you know Carina talked to your school. They said that since you're so far away from them now, that you'll have to go to another school." Maya explained.
"Oh... okay. Where would I go?"
"There's a school close to us. Kingston."
"Isn't that a school for super smart kids?" I asked.
"You'll fit right in. Plus, Ben's son goes there. So you won't be going in without at least knowing one person there." Maya said.
"But, how do I pay for it? Isn't the tuition really expensive?"

"You don't worry about that. You're a kid. Be a kid, bambina. We'll handle the adult stuff." Carina said with a smile.
I gave them another hug, squeezing them tight.
"Thank you guys. I really mean it."

An hour later, the whole team and I were sitting on the floor in the living room.
"You should come to the station tomorrow mini Bishop! You could hang out with me all day." Vic said with a smile.
I looked over at Maya and Carina. "I don't see a problem with it. You just have to promise to stay at the station if we get a call." Maya said.
"I promise!"

The doorbell rang. "I'll get it." Carina got up and walked to the front door to grab the food.
"Do you have everyone's numbers in case you need anything?" Travis asked.
"Yes. And I already know the drill. 'Call us if you're ever in a situation you don't feel comfortable or safe in regardless of the time'." I quoted Andy.
"Good job Mija." Andy ruffled my hair.

"Come on guys! Let's eat." Maya got up, and we all followed her into the dining room.

We all sat down and ate. Vic and Andy argued about who got to sit next to me, so I talked them into letting me sit in the middle.

"I just want to say something real quick." I said.
"I want to thank everyone for everything that you've done. I haven't even been in your lives for two days, and you guys have made me feel... wanted. Like I have a family."

"That's because you are wanted, and you do have a family." Ben said with a smile.
