Chapter Fifteen

*Two years later*

"I got in." I whispered to myself in the kitchen as I was reading my email.
I quickly ran in Maya's and Carina's room and jumped on the bed.
"Farfalla! It's five in the morning." Carina groaned.
"I got in! I got accepted to the academy!" I shouted, still jumping on their bed.
"Oh my God! You did?" Maya sat up in bed.

"I fucking got in!"
"Language!" Maya and Carina said at the same time.
"Sorry Maya! Sorry Mom!" I plopped down on the bed in between them.
"I'm so proud of you kid!" Maya kissed my cheek.
"Me too farfalla." Carina wrapped her arm around me and cuddled into me.

"I got in all thanks to you two. If you two hadn't have taken me in, and done everything you've done for me I wouldn't be going after my dreams right now."
"Farfalla, it's too early to start the water works." Carina said with a small laugh.
"I love you guys."

"We love you too Kid. Now c'mon, let's get ready for the station."

*At the station*

"Hey mini Bishop!" Dean said as we walked into the kitchen.
"What's up Uncle Dean." We fist bumped and I walked to the coffee machine.
"Hey Mija." Andy gave me a kiss on the head as she walked by.
"Hey Tia." I poured a cup of coffee

I turned and looked at everyone talking and laughing with each other. My family. These people are my family.

"Hey guys? I have an announcement." I said putting my coffee cup down.
"What's up Ali?" Travis asked.

"I got in." I said with a smile.
"You got in?" Vic asked excitedly.
"I got into the academy!" I exclaimed.

Everyone erupted in cheers, and Andy lifted me off the ground in a hug.
"I knew you could do it kid." Ben hugged me. He's become like a Dad to me.

"Congrats probie." Sullivan nodded with a smile.
"When do you start?" Dean asked.
"Three months."

"So that means that we get you here for three months." Maya said walking in.
"What do you mean?"

She handed me turn out gear.
"You've been given special permission to start your probation period early by the fire chief. Congratulations kid."
"Oh my God!" I squealed as I jumped on my sister.

"I'm so proud of you Allison." She whispered to me as we hugged.
"Thank you sis."

I turned to everyone.
"I'm able to do all this, because of all of you. I wouldn't be where I am today if you guys didn't stop and put me in the fire truck. You all took in fourteen year old me, and treated me like family. You guys are the best family I've ever had."
I turned to Vic, Andy, and Dean, "You guys got me out of my shell, and treated me like a niece from the second you found out I was Maya's sister."

I turned to Travis, Jack, and Sullivan.
"You three. Sullivan, you make me bust my ass every time I'm helping out here. You don't cut me any slack because I'm young. Travis and Jack, You always know what to say to make me feel better."

I turned to Ben. "Ben. I know you don't wanna hear it because it makes you think you're old. But you're the closest thing I've ever had to a Dad. And I thank whatever's up there every day that I have you as my Dad."

I walked over to Maya. "And my wonderful, selfless sister. I love you so much. You've done everything for me the past four years I've known you. We've had our disagreements, but I know you only want what's best for me. I wouldn't be here without you and Mom."

"I love you all so much. And I'm so honored to be on your team." I told them all.

"19!" Dean shouted.
"19!" We all shouted back.
