*Four months later*

"AID CAR 19, FIRE TRUCK 19."

"Let's go people! Come on!" Maya yelled.
I quickly ran into the garage, and pulled my turn out gear on.
We all hopped in the fire truck, and put our head mics on.

Sullivan turned the sirens on, and drove out.

"You ready for your first fire out of the academy?" Vic asked.
"I'm so ready." I nodded.

We pulled up to the house fire, and we all got out.
"Sullivan, Montgomery, Hughes! Grab the hose and start spraying! Miller, Bishop, Herrera! You guys are on recovery! Warren, Gibson! You guys are on the aid car."

I quickly grabbed my helmet, and followed Dean and Andy into the house.
"Station 19! If you can hear me, yell out!" I shouted as we walked in.
"Right wall check." Dean felt the wall.
"Left wall check." I felt it. It didn't feel too hot yet.

"Do you guys see any fire?" Andy shouted.
"Not yet! Just smoke!" I yelled.
"Andy, you and Allison go upstairs and look for victims. I'm gonna go check the kitchen and basement." Dean shouted.

Andy and I walked upstairs, feeling the walls and checking the rooms as we went

"Captain! The fire is in the kitchen at the back of the house!" We heard Dean say over the radio.
"Copy. I'm sending the hose back there Miller."

I opened a door, and saw someone laying on the bed.

"Ma'am! Ma'am we need to go!" I shook her and she didn't wake up.

"Captain I'm coming out with an unconscious female." I said over the radio.
I picked her up, and carried her downstairs and out the door.
"Move!" I yelled to bystanders as I ran her to the aid car.

"No more victims in the house Captain. I'm coming out." I heard Andy say over the radio.

"Ma'am! Are you okay?" I shook her lightly as she came to.
She coughed and took a deep breath as I put the oxygen mask over her mouth.

I took off my helmet and checked her pulse. She seemed okay, except for smoke inhalation.
"What happened?"
"You were in a fire. Something in your kitchen caught fire. What's your name?"
"Page Wilson." She coughed out.

I dropped my helmet and stared at her.
"P-Page?" I asked.
She looked at me for the first time.
"Allison?"

"Bishop! We need you over here!" I heard Sullivan shout.
"I gotta go." I quickly stood up and ran over to him.
"Where do you need me?"
"Nowhere. I just saw who it was and I wanted to get you away." He said with a nod.
"Thank you." I sighed out.

"Good work team! Let's pack up and go home." Maya yelled.
I helped them roll up the hose, and put everything away.
"You good mija?" Andy asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"You're being quiet."
"Just focusing." I got in the truck and shut the door behind me.

*At the station*

"Good job today guys. No casualties." Maya said as we all got out of the truck.
"Allison!" Maya called me over.
"Yeah cap?"
"Good job today. You did good getting that girl out." She patted my back.

"Thanks. I'm gonna go take a shower." I turned and walked out of the garage.

Maya

"Andy." I motioned for her to come over to me.
"What's up Captain?"
"Is Allison okay? She's acting weird. Not really what I expected for her first fire out of the academy.
"She said she was just focusing on work." Andy said with a shrug.
"Cap? Can I talk to you for a second?" Sullivan asked.
"What's up Sullivan?"
"The girl that Allison rescued today. She's uh... it was Page." He said awkwardly.
"What? Are you fucking joking?"

"No. I really don't like getting into this stuff, you know that. But Allison is like a kid sister to me. And the face she made when she realized who it was, it kinda broke my heart a little."
"Thanks Sullivan. I'll talk to her." I said with a sigh.

Allison

How could she be back? I haven't seen her in years. And she just happened to be at my first real house fire. Fuck.

I sighed and turned off the water, wrapping myself in a towel.
"Hey kid. You got a minuet?" Maya asked as I walked into the locker room.
"What's up Captain?" I opened my locker and grabbed my clothes out.
"I heard who was at the fire today. You good?"
"Yep. Peachy." I pulled my jeans on and slipped my shirt on over my head.

"It's okay if you're not okay. I know she was your first love and everything and-"
"Honestly Captain, I don't want to talk about this at work. Can we talk about it at home." I shut my locker and grabbed my phone.
"Of course. Your Mom should be home already. Are you going straight home?" My sister leaned against the lockers.
"Yeah. I don't have anywhere else to be." I said with a shrug.

"What happened to that one chick?" We walked out of the locker room.
"Just a one night thing."
"Oh. I understand. I had quite a few of those before I met your mom." She joked.

"I really don't wanna hear about my sisters sex life." I groaned.
"You talk to Carina about your sex life." She pointed out.
"Yeah but she's not my sister. She's my Mom. And she's like, a sex expert. Wait, that sounded wrong."

Maya laughed and squeezed my shoulder.
"I'm proud of you kid. You did good today."
"Thanks Maya. I'll see you at home later."
