"Wow..." Webber trailed off.
"My fiancé is a freaking genius!" Amelia exclaimed.
"This... this might actually work." Arizona said.
"I think it would. Plus the crash cart she created yesterday would help with complications." Carina added.
"Bailey?" I asked."It will work. There's no it might. There's no I think. This will work." Bailey said reading over the board.
"Really? You guys don't think I'm crazy?" I asked."Oh you're crazy alright. But the right amount of crazy. You just created your own method Doctor Deluca-Bishop." Webber said with a smile.
"Yes! I freaking knew it!" I started dancing again.
"When do you want to launch it?" Bailey asked.
"Wait. You're going to support it?" I gasped.
"Of course. It's genius. The faster we launch it, the sooner you're on your way to becoming the youngest Catherine Fox award winner.""Holy shit, it's happening. This is really gonna happen?" I looked at Amelia.
"It's really happening my love." She kissed my forehead.*One month later*
"And we're proud to announce that we are launching the new 'Deluca-Bishop Method'." Bailey said proudly to the room of Doctors.
Everyone clapped as I made my way to the front of the room.
"Thank you Doctor Bailey." I gave her a hug, and turned to the room."Hello, and welcome. My name is Doctor Allison Deluca-Bishop. Today I will be explaining the Deluca-Bishop Method. Do we have any questions before we start?"
A few hands shot up.
"Doctor Kareem?"
"Doctor, what made you interested in this study? Your original interest was General and Trauma."
"I worked a case with my Mom, Doctor Deluca. We tried to operate on a tiny human maker. Julia, the tiny human, was growing her heart on the outside of her body. Sadly, neither one of them made it. It bothered me every night. I had nightmares. And then I had a dream and it came to me." I said with a small shrug."Do you really think something this crazy could work?" A doctor asked from the back of the room.
"I don't think it's crazy. I think it's brilliant. And not just because I created the method. But because it could save more lives."
"It's dangerous, don't you think? Or are you just used to dangerous situations, considering your other job." The Doctor said.
"I'm sorry, but what does my other job have to do with this? Yes I am a fire fighter, and a Doctor. Neither job effects the other. As a matter of fact, I found this method at my other job. Any logical questions before we start?"I looked around the room, waiting for someone to say something.
"Alright then. Let's begin.""That was amazing babe." Amelia said walking up.
"Thank you my love. I was nervous about talking in front of that many people, but it just went away."
"My fiancé is a brilliant published surgeon, and a sexy fire fighter." Amelia said, giving me a kiss.
"This brilliant sexy fire fighting Doctor wants to celebrate. You wanna go to the station and drink with the crew that's off?"
"That sounds great to me."*At the station*
"Ciao family!" I shouted as Amelia and I walked in.
"There's our published surgeon!" Dean ran over and lifted Amelia and me on his shoulders.
"Hold that! Picture!" Vic grabbed her phone and snapped a few pictures.Dean put us down and we gave him hugs.
"So what's the next step?" Andy asked.
"Well, it'll get published tomorrow. Officially known as the Deluca-Bishop Method. And then people will start calling asking about us doing it, but I already have the surgeons lined up to perform. My tiny human maker crash carts go out tomorrow as well, so there's that." I smiled nervously."It'll be great. You'll be getting calls begging for you to go to other hospitals." Andy said.
"Oh I'm not leaving Grey+Sloan. I will not leave the hospital or the Station that made me." I said shaking my head."Mija, you know you could go to so many great hospitals."
"I know. But I'm not leaving my fiancé, my family, my hospital, or my station. Nineteen!"
"Nineteen!" Everyone chanted back."I want everyone to come to mine and Amelia's new place for celebratory drinks." I smiled at my fiancé.
"You got a place?" Andy asked.
"Yeah. I was waiting to tell you all until we got our stuff moved in.""We're missing you at our house kid." Maya wrapped her arm over my shoulder.
"We'll come stay the night soon." Amelia told her.
"Come on, to mini bishop's house!"*An hour later*
"You two really made this place look great." Carina said as she walked into the kitchen.
"Thanks Mom." I leaned against the counter and sipped my beer.
"Are you okay? You're quiet tonight." She asked softly.
"Yeah, just stressed. I mean, I'm doing it. I'm doing the things. I work two jobs, I save lives, I have a wonderful fiancé, a wonderful mom and sister, and I feel like there's still more I could be doing." I sighed.
"That's just the aftermath of your first published method. You'll be craving to come up with something else for a while. It'll pass soon." She leaned and put her head on my shoulder.
"I miss our morning talks." I said with a sad smile.
"Me too farfalla. You'll have to call me every morning when you wake up so we can talk."
"Deal. Now you get back to your fiancé." I nudged her off of me playfully.
"I can say the same thing to you. I'm proud of you bella."
"Thanks Mom." I smiled as we both walked back into the living room.*A few hours later*
Amelia shoved me into our room, shutting the door behind her.
I quickly pushed her against the door, capturing her lips against mine.
"We have to be quiet." She muttered against my lips.
"You have to be quiet." I said with a smile.
I reached down and picked her up, and she wrapped her legs around my waist.
"How are you not drunk?" She asked.
"Because I don't drink much around you. I wanna be sober buddies with you." I laid her on the bed, and pulled her pants off.
"As much as I love you, you don't have to do that. I'm fine being sober by myself." She sat up and started unbuttoning my shirt."I know. I just want to do it with you. We're getting married. Married couples do shit together." I moved her bra out of the way, and gently nibbled on the soft skin, receiving a quiet moan as a response.
"Let's get married tomorrow." She said as she pulled me back up to her face.
"What?" I asked with a laugh.
"Let's go to the court house with our friends and your Mom and sister, and let's get hitched. I don't need a fancy wedding. I'd marry you outside the nasty pizza place on third street if I could."
"Okay. Let's do it." I said with a smile.
"We're getting married tomorrow."
"We're getting married."
