My eyes fluttered open slowly, Stephano wanted to meet up with someone by 9:00am. I slowly got off the bed and headed into the bathroom, it was already 7:30am. I grabbed the long black coat I lay on my bed, putting it on over my Jean pants and black shirt. I packed my hair into a ponytail and grabbed my boots, stepping out of my room to go wait for Stephano. It was a Saturday morning so Grandma usually left the house early as I noticed, the rest were left to sleep on. I walked out of the house, noticing there was another car parked in the compound alongside the one we returned with last night. I let my gaze wander around the compound, there were still guards around the compound, I counted ten of them, all armed and their faces emotionless. I heard footsteps behind me and I turned to lock eyes with Stephano. He was in his signature suit, he was smiling warmly at me and his hair was ruffled.
"Good morning, boss." I greeted. He nodded his head before walking towards the new car, I followed him quietly. I noticed he looked fine and his little wound was covered by his ruffled hair. Mine was covered by my long sleeved coat. He was looking charming as always and those blue eyes of his seemed to have an effect on me as he turned to me.
"How are you?" He asked when we were fully seated in the car.
"I am quite alright, how about you?"
"Good." He replied before turning to the steering. We drove out of the compound in a comforting silence.
We arrived in front of a mansion after driving for about forty-five minutes. I noticed a camera right outside the gates, he honked lightly and the gates were pulled open, revealing the compound which was bustling with different men, they wore mostly black and even if they weren't wearing all black, there was a touch of black. Most of them were armed there were at least forty men here, most of them were smoking, their faces hard and rough, some gambled at a corner at a table at a corner in the compound. Their gaze shifted to us as we drove into the compound, parking in the middle. Stephano just sat in he car as he parked, his hand on his jaw and his fingers tapping his face as he starred uninterestedly at the mansion, he was waiting for someone. Soon enough, a man walked right out of the building, he was wearing a black coat, his hair was black with some grey scattered around it. His dark eyes shone with mischief and he just grinned wildly and dangerously, flashing a slightly crooked front teeth at us while walking towards the car. Stephano sighed before getting out of the car, I followed, going to stand behind him. The man has two men behind him, one carrying a briefcase and the other was armed, his face hard and stoic. The men were finally in front of us."Stephano." The man kept grinning and it was then I noticed his accent and the way he pronounced the name.... He is Russian. "Did you get what I asked for?"
Stephano's face was plain and looked kinda uninterested though his eyes were hard and cold like ice. "Of course Vladimir, how was your flight?"
For some reason, the man chuckled darkly. "Oh, it was fine, I thought Stollo would come to welcome me himself, but here you are."
"Any problem with that?" Stephano asked.
"Not at all my boy." He laughed, rubbing a hand down his face.
He motioned for the guard to hand the briefcase to Stephano. "When will Stollo be ready to cut the deal?" The man asked."As soon as you complete the requirements. Everything is set already." Stephano grabbed the briefcase, he headed for the boot, throwing it in and pulling out another briefcase which he handed to the guard. "I believe I will see you soon." Was all Stephano said before we turned and got in the car. The man's humoured eyes seemed to linger on me for a little over a second, sending dark chills through me, he reminded me of my life in the ring for some reason. I turned my head to the window lost in thoughts, "What is this deal about?" Was one question I couldn't ask, obviously it was something dark and dangerous.
"I will need to stop at the store and get Stephanie those tampons she asked for." Stephano spoke, I nodded my head lightly. "Would you like me to get some for you too?"
I whipped my head towards him, expecting to see his signature mischievous smirk, but he was just serious and plain about it. "No, I am good. Thanks for asking." I replied politely before turning my head away.
"I am hoping you can help me pick out a gift for Stacey." He sighed, I felt a slight squeeze in my heart at that sentence.
"I am not sure I can do that, sir." I replied as politely as I could.
He chuckled lightly, the soft sound vibrating through his chest. "so I mention buying Stacey a gift and you start calling me, "Sir." Are you jealous, kitten?" He asked, humour obvious in his eyes and voice.
I frowned. "You are weird, and stop calling me kitten what the fuck?" I groaned.
"Hmmm.... Though you are one tough kitty you know?" He grinned. I rolled my eyes at him, I found my eyes lingering a little long on his face before I turned away, wanting to shake it out of my head the moment a tiny voice whispered to my head that he is really good looking.
"It's Stacey's birthday and there is going to be a party at her parents' house, normally I wouldn't even bother but my father wants something from her father so I have to play all nice." He explained.
"You don't have to explain to me." I replied.
He sighed. "Jeez, you are no fun at all, and Stephanie calls me the king of boredom and annoyance when there is you."
I didn't reply as we kept driving. "Please Ariana, I hate drama that's why I need to get her a gift, you know how over dramatic she can be, she might throw a tantrum and I don't want that." He pleaded.
"Fine." I sighed.
"Thanks, I owe you some." He winked at me before blowing a kiss in the air, I rolled my eyes, trying to suppress the smile that broke out on my face but failing woefully. He pulled up in front of a store and we both got out. People turned their heads to stare as he walked ahead while I walk slightly behind him in my black coat which was being carried by the wind. We walked in.
"I will go get the tampons, you go get a gift." He told me before heading into the section for female accessories. I walked around the store wondering what I should get her. Something in my heart felt like settling for a box of cockroaches for that bitch.
Come to think of it, I had never had to get someone a birthday gift before, and I never really got one either. Hell, I almost couldn't even remember my birthday anymore. I never had the chance to celebrate it, and before I even remember it exists, it was long gone. I walked round the store before finding myself in the jewelry section. She will probably like jewelry, I thought to myself. My eyes settled on the pair of diamond earrings and a matching necklace in a transparent box. I grabbed it, heading towards the car.
"It's quite early, so we can head home and rest. The party starts by 6pm. I swear I totally forgot about it, but thanks to Stephanie, she saw it on her post and informed me." He sighed. "You should wear a dinner gown." He added.
"Why?" I blurted.
"Well it's some classy party that's one, and two I don't need people thinking I needed a bodyguard who by the way is female to go to a fucking birthday party."
