(May my girlfriend forgive me for this)

Jackson kept looking at the ground as he walked down the school hallway, heading to his locker room. The hot atmosphere was annoying him. Can't this place get even worse? He thought to himself. He loved going to school, but the one thing he hated about it was how hot the room could be, especially when it's around 10 o'clock in the morning.

He kept his head down as he opened his locker. He put his textbooks inside carefully. He turned to look at them one more time to see if it was well-organized. He nodded his head and closed his locker. He walked away, only left with a sling bag hanging from his left shoulder. He started making his way to the cafeteria.

On his way there, it was silent. He kept his hands in his pockets as he walked by. He just wanted to get some food, as he was hungry, and tired from all of those activities and lessons he had to write down on his notes. His hands were tired from all those writing as he wrote all of the things listed on the board earlier. His teacher said to only write down the important things, but he wrote down the whole thing of the lesson. Who could blame him? Those notes might be useful someday.

(I do this all the time💀)

"Jackson!" Called a sweet, angelic voice. It was a familiar sound. He looked up to see his friend, Elsa waving at him. His whole personality just did a 180° flip because of that smile. He waved back, then smiled only for a brief moment.

His eyes caught a glimpse of the person Elsa was interlocking arms with. His smile faded slowly, that familiar pain on his chest hitting him again but he decided not to show. The boy looked up at him directly making eye contact. He smiled, "Hey."

Jackson returned the smile, "Hey, Jack."

Jackson's eyss drifted from his brother, then to him and Elsa's hands, their fingers intertwined. He wondered, what would it feel like if it was his hand intertwined with hers? He smiled bitterly.

The couple started to approach him. He forced on a smile at them, trying to hide the fact that he was hurting inside. Elsa was the first one to speak. "Me and Jack are heading to the cafeteria. Wanna come?"

"Yeah, sure."

~~~~~
"Hey guys!" Elsa greeted the both of them. Jackson flashed her a soft smile. Jack smiled at her, leaning in to steal a kiss. Jackson heard her giggle before their lips met for a brief moment. Jack wrapped and arm around Elsa's waist protectively, bringing her close to him. Elsa looked at Jack with a loving gaze. A look Jackson had wanted her to look at him that way.
"Elsa wanted to tag along with us so.." Jack trailed off, his eyes drifted to meet hers, wich was already on him. They both laughed it off together as Jackson stood still, wearing his best fake smile for them. "Get a room." Jackson teased, swallowing the lump in his throat. He brushed off the feeling of misery and jealousy as they were supposed to have fun this night.
Oh, how Jack and Elsa looked very much inlove with each other. Jackson had envied his older brother since they were just little kids back then. Jack was a very cheerful and outgoing person. He's the kind of person who's fun to be around.
While Jackson was quiet, shy and reserved. A rule abiding, boring person. No girl would want to be with this boring, no-fun person, so he couldn't really blame Elsa for loving Jack so dearly.
But maybe.. just maybe..
If things were different, he would be the one holding Elsa in his arms. Not his brother.
Jackson mentally slapped himself, grabbing the keys. He locked their front door as soon as Jack and Elsa stepped out, holding hands. Jackson ruffled his messy air as he took in the cold breeze of the air. Winter was starting. He thought to himself. He looked back at the couple, smiling bitterly.
