The air was cold. Wet and humid as the sun set below the clouds and night quickly overtook the sky.

They were coming. She felt it. Deep in her stomach she knew they were preparing. But so did they.

Month after month spent preparing for this day, training, sparring, testing, communicating. They were mistaken if they assumed this would be an easy fight.

The wind whipped as Jedha scanned the horizon through her electrobinoculars, her eyes jumping from side to side hoping she would see something. The anticipation ate at her, most nights she wouldn't be able to sleep because of it. Not out of fear, but anger. She was dying to get what belonged to her back and she didn't care what she had to do to get it.

"Anything?" Dain asked taking his spot next to her. The winter months had hit hard, snow scattering the ground and trees grew stripped of their leaves, exposing only their branches.

Jedha shook her head. "No." She spoke quickly and raspy as the cold air stung her throat, lowering the binoculars.

"You're sure they're coming tonight?" Dain asked, glancing towards her, his eyebrows furrowing.

She nodded, her jaw clenching and her breath visible in front of her as the temperature dropped by the second. "They're planning to come when the moon peaks in the sky. Wont be long now."

"You said that the last three times." Dain responded pulling his cowl over his shoulder.

Jedha snapped her gaze towards him, her eyes piercing his intimidatingly, "I know they're coming. Go inside you'll get sick."

Dain scoffed, "And you expect me to leave you here waiting for their ambush?"

"I'm capable." Jedha spoke sternly, "Anything on the east side of the village?" She asked bringing the binoculars back to her face.

"No." Dain responded shortly gazing into the distance. Silence filled their senses as the cold wind nipped at their faces and hands.

"How's B." Jedha asked.

"Fine, doing good at this mom thing. She's back to eating."

A smile appeared across Jedha's lips, "Thats my girl. How's baby."

"She's um.." Dain paused grabbing Jedha's attention.

"She's what?" Her voice laced with concern.

Her worries slowly dissipated as a smirk appeared on his lips. "Let me show you."

Jedha nodded as she slipped her binoculars into her back pocket, following behind Dain through the white terrain to the barn.

Pulling open the doors, she sighed as all Banthas were sleeping peacefully, even in the glacial winds the only thing heard were the soft snores coming from the massive animals.

Dain gestured for her to follow as B came into view. "Look." He spoke barely above a whisper.

Jedha's eyebrows knitted together as she struggled to see what she needed to be looking at through the darkness.

Until she finally saw what he meant.

"Wha.." The word escaped her lips as she squatted close to the ground. Baby Naya stirred slowly, her tiny tail swayed from side to side aggressively as she trotted towards Jedha into the light.

Her fur and skin on her snout and face had turned an icy blonde color alone with her eyes which were now a muted grey color.

Jedha couldn't help but run her fingers through Naya's fur slowly. She pinched the course hair between her fingertips as small grunts escaped Naya.
