Chapter 2

*Kat’s POV*

I wasn’t the best with boys. Michael and I had only been dating a month before I found out he was cheating. He was my first, and only, boyfriend, and I haven’t even had my first kiss.

So obviously, I felt very strange sitting in a van with 5 complete, and very hot, strangers. Louis had sat next to me, and Liam was driving. My ankle still really hurt and the boys had convinced me to let them take me to a hospital.

Niall and Harry had taken my car so that it wouldn’t be left at the biking trail. Zayn was in the passenger seat, talking to someone named Paul, telling him something had come up and they would be home late. It was strange, because Zayn was talking like Paul was the boys’ father, but I could easily tell these boys were not brothers.

Louis had his arm around my shoulder, which felt so, well.. perfect. I felt like I belonged in these arms. “No stop.” I said to myself, “Don’t get attached.”

“Katrina, I noticed that you have an American accent. Where are you from?” Louis whispered in my ear. It sent shivers down my back.

“I am from the United States, but I moved only yesterday to London. Last night I slept in the airport. I literally have nothing right now.”

Louis had a confused look. “Why did you move? And where are you living?” I sighed. I wasn’t sure if I should tell him, but then again, after this I would never see him again…

“I have an abusive father. So when I was old enough I packed my things and left without saying goodbye.” I said in a simple voice. I had trained myself to not cry over any pain that was internal, people got attached that way, and I hadn’t moved here to become attached to anybody. So I talked about my father like I did about the weather; like it was nothing important. “And I don’t have a place to stay. I was going to stay in my car until I found a job.” I said simply. I had no intention of acting like my life was some sob story, even if it really was.

Louis pulled me into a hug that I squirmed out of.

“I am sorry, but I am not a hugger.” I said defiantly. Louis got an evil grin on his face.

“Love,  that will change very fast.” I shook my head, but couldn’t help but laugh at Louis. I hadn’t laughed like that in a long time…

“Alright! We’re here. Louis, will you help Katrina get out of the car? I’ll go check in.” Liam said.

When Louis and I had made it to the front desk, I was escorted to a huge room.

The nurse spoke with a giggle in her voice. “It is such a pleasure to help you Mr. Payne, if you need anything, let me know.” She winked at Liam in a very flirtatious matter, and looked at me like I was some dead fish. What was going on?

“Ah, this must be Katrina. It was quite an honor that you chose to come to us Mr. Payne; it isn’t every day that we have a famous band join us.” The doctor said. Famous? The boys were famous. That’s when it hit me. I suddenly recognized all the boy’s faces. I had crashed into the boys of One Direction.
