I crawled into bed with a cup of coffee after the taping of Smackdown. Turning the lamp on beside the bed I spotted my old photo albums and smiled. I reached over and placed it in my lap, flipping it open. Of course it was filled with pictures of Seth and I, from taking baths as babies to working at the comic store together. It was crazy how the time flew past. Seems just like yesterday I was telling Seth the only way I would get married was if it was to Johnny Depp. Now look at me.
When I finally came to the last picture a million memories came flooding back. Prom..
"I'm not going!" I said slamming the dress down on my bed.
"And why the hell not?" Seth asked coming out of the bathroom.
I set down on my bed and laid back, sighing. Don't get me wrong, I knew Prom was a big deal but I'm a 18 year old girl with braces and Teal hair. Who would dance with me anyway?
"Colby. I don't have a date. Do you know how embarrassing it would be?"
"I don't have a date either Nov."
"But you're Colby Lopez, the badass of the school. Every girl will throw their selves at you.."
"Not if I have a date.." Colby said laying beside me.
"Then find a girl and you won't even think about me. Just please let me stay home and watch Freaks and Geeks!" I pleaded.
"It's too late everyone has a date, besides you! So get your ass ready. I'll be over here in 15 minutes," He stood up and walked to my door, "by the way I'm not taking no for an answer."
I sighed and looked at the black dress again. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely beautiful. Seth had actually helped me pick it out. But why would I want to go to the prom with my best friend? Prom is where you finally get to dance with the one guy you've been drooling over since 5th grade, where you finally loose your innocence, where every fantasy comes true.Oh, but not for me..
Walking to the bathroom I finished my make up I had started before Colby had come over and slipped the dress back on. After that adding my favorite vans were the icing on the cake. As I looked myself over in the mirror I actually saw a glimmer of hope twinkling in my eye.
When I heard knocking on the door I knew my 15 minutes were up. Taking a deep breath I walked down the steps to be met with a suited Cobly. He looked fantastic I almost felt a little something between us but I pushed it back and smiled.
"I told you they'd end up together." My mom whispered to my dad.
"Mom no. We are going as friends.." I said embarrassed.
She winked at me before I looked to Colby casually. He had a on a black suit with his black hair falling naturally on his forehead. As we locked eyes Colby shot me a wink almost making my knees weak. I had no idea what was going on. I didn't have feeling for my best friend.. did I?
"Gotta say, you clean up well Lopez." I smirked.
"You're not too shabby either Corky" Colb returned the smirk.
"Why don't you kids act like you know each other so I can grt a picture of my two favorite people?" My mom joked.
I walked to Colby and he placed an arm around my waist instantly making me grin. After I saw the flash I tried to back away but he kept me right by his side. Honestly, I had felt a little uncomfortable.
