"How's Paige?" It was a stupid question. I knew she was good, she was Paige for crying out loud. But I missed her, so I had to ask.
"Well, she's still pissed at you. Which is normal, you know how she is. She kinda got angry at me for coming out to lunch with you today."
"You know you didn't have to, you two travel together and I'd hate for you to be on bad terms."
"You're just as much of my friend as she is. She'll come around, no one can resist the wild chile for too long."
She reached across the table and grabbed my hand, "Thanks, Foxy."
It was nice to see a familiar face. The company was in Iowa for a show and I was beginning to get tired of seeing just my parents. Plus I needed the low down on a few people.
"Anytime, Nov. You know I'm always here."
Though Foxy and I had drifted apart I believed her. She was all I had. I couldn't take it for granted.
"So, has anyone been talking about me?" I chuckled.
"Steph was a little upset. She said she'll always keep a spot for you, I didn't realize the two of you were so close."
I nodded, "yeah, her and I never had an problems. She was always nice to me."
"So, come back to work then!! What are you waiting for? I know you're miserable setting at your parents house all day. Admit it, you miss WWE. We were your family when you didn't have any and you can't just abandon us."
"Fox," I sighed, "I wish it was that easy. But I messed so much stuff up because I was only thinking about me. Paige wants nothing to do with me. The love of my life hates me, and he's found someone-"
"Oh my god, please don't tell me you think him and Zahra are a real thing?" She began laughing hysterically.
Looking across the table I gave her a funny look. What does she mean? She must have noticed I was confused because she began to further explain.
"She's a newbie. Vince brought her up because Seth begged to get out of his next story line. They wanted him and Cena to lead up to a big wrestlemania match. Seth said he wouldn't do it because of personal issues with Cena. So they gave him Zahra and told him to go after Corbin. It's pretty interesting but Zahra is a bitch. She's rude to everyone and claims she's going to run the division. As if!"
"Wait, you mean to tell me, Seth dropped probably one of the biggest storylines he could have gotten because of personal issues?"
"Damn Novalee, do I need to spell everything out for you?! Seth didn't want the storyline because he still love you and he hates how Cena treated you!"
I was shocked, "what should I do?"
"Get your little ass up and go to him, God dammit!!"
After that I didn't hesitate. I had no idea where I was going but, I was going! Seth had to be somewhere in the city. And if I knew my Colby I knew exactly where he was!
-
"Novalee! Why are you running down the street?" My dad hollered from the front porch.
At the exact same moment the Lopez's door opened next door and I stopped in front of their house.
"That's why, daddy."
Colby looked at me as he, his mom, and his dad walked outside. Now would be a perfect time to say something Nova.
I was frozen. Right there on their lawn."What are you doing here?" Seth called from the porch.
"Well, talk around town is two kids met on this very street many moons ago. Girl and a boy, to be exact." I sighed, "The girls parents told her to stay away from him for the very beginning. But something made it where she couldn't. She was strung on this boy like nothing before, and she hoped he felt the same way."
"He did, by the way. The entire time." He spoke up.
"Everyone says that they're meant for each other." I felt the hot tears began to fall down my cheeks.
Colby slowly began walking down the steps coming towards me. My body relaxed when he stood in front of me, home this was the home feeling.
"They are." He whispered.
"Even though the girl was selfish?" I blinked away a few tears.
"Hey, I heard the guy is an asshole! So I think it's okay." His smile made me smile.
"She loves him, you know that?"
"He knows, and he loves her. He just wants her to come home."
I nodded my head and he grabbed me, wrapping me in one of those big hugs I missed more than anything in the world.
"You were driving me crazy, Nov. Please don't ever leave again." He whispered.
"I ain't going anywhere, Colb."
"Good, because I'm marrying you so you can't ever leave me."
I chuckled, "is that you asking me?"
"No, this is."
He dropped down to one knee in front of both of our parents and pulled out the prettiest opal wedding ring I had ever seen. My hear began beating out of my chest as the tears kept falling.
"Make your bullshit my bullshit and marry me?"
"You're such a fucking asshole, of course!"
He placed the ring on my finger before picking me up and kissing me.
