"Are you really not going?" Your friend asked you as she took another dress from the rack. "It would be no fun without you."
"I have no intention on going." You firmly stated, leisurely flipping through the store's catalogue as you waited for your friend to finish checking herself out through the mirror. "Prom just isn't my thing."
"Is Eric not coming as well?" She asked, baffled about why you decided not to come.
"He will." You answered easily. "Just not with me."
"Did he not even ask you out?" She tried to ask, wanting to double check before she pulled out her pitchforks.
"He did ask me," You said as you recalled his promposal. "It was lowkey, and he was okay with me not going."
"Help me up!" You yelled at the laughing boy, embarrassed at how you were lying down on the wet road, too tired to pull yourself up.
"Why would I?" He said as he calmed down, making his way to you and squatting in front of you, feeling the cold ground.
"Because you're my boyfriend?!" You playfully yelled at him, stating the obvious.
"You're right." He agreed, holding your hand and lying down as well on the cold wet ground. "I should be lying down too."
"Not that pabo-ya!" You said as you rolled over trying to get up before he put his hands around your waist, not letting you get up yet.
"If you're lying down on the cold hard ground, I'd be too." He said before he closed his eyes, still holding you. "And besides we always have spares in the car trunk." He reassured you seeing how you kept wriggling to get out of his grip to get up from the floor.
"As long as if it's with you," You said as you settled down, using his arm as your pillow. "It must be okay."
"Then let's go to prom." He said swiftly as you two looked up at the sky. "But if you don't want to, it's okay as well." He said reassuring you that he was not forcing you into going.
He knew how you felt about yourself and how you didn't really like school functions. Of course he always wanted you to feel good about who you are and comfortable, but he never rushed you into figuring them out, he just knew he wanted to be there for you.
