"Bom wait!" You exclaimed at the hasty golden retriever who tugged at the leash you were holding.
You and your dog peacefully walked outside, with her jumping energetically as the sun shined beautifully that afternoon.
It has been quite a while since you came home to your hometown as you were too swamped by work, so it felt freeing to walk Bom outside.
"Bom-ah, sit please." You tried to command her, waving a treat on the floor to try and convince her to sit down beside you while you took a seat on the park bench.
But it was unsuccessful, with Bom running towards a small Welsh corgi that rested under a tree, with its owner having a few books laid out on the ground.
With a jolt, Bom made you let go of her leash as she ran past the everything in attempt to play with the Corgi under the tree, stepping and cluttering it's owners stack of books.
"Sorry about that,"You tried to apologize, making your way to Bom who stopped to play with the Corgi who was tied up under the tree. "Let me help you fix them." You tried to say before meeting eyes with its owner.
"Oh," He said as he made eye contact with you while he took off his earphones. "Long time no see." He smiled, shyly running his fingers through his hair as he stood up to greet you.
"I'm so sorry about my dog," You apologized, bending down towards the book clutters in attempt to avoid his gaze due to embarrassment. "If you need me to replace this, you can just call m—." You tried to say before realizing it.
You paused, froze actually, slowly becoming a nervous wreck in front of the guy who just smiled in awe. He found it cute how you were still the same, even after all those years have passed.
"Yeah I still have it," He said with a light laugh, making you smile at him while you also tied Bom's leash on the tree branch. "Don't worry." He reassured you as he laid out another blanket for you, packing the books he had laid out to make space for you.
It was quiet, with a hint of awkwardness still lingering between you two. Although there was nothing to be ashamed about, as you two ended on good terms in the past, it was just awkward.
"When did you adopt a dog?" He tried to start a conversation, looking at you who had a smile plastered on your face as you observed the two dogs cutely playing with a few toys.
