Autumn

Autumn came and her heart withered away,
Feigning calmness with every breath she'd take,
The feeling of melancholy was here to stay.

What once was happiness now turned gray,
The black and white almost merging in disgrace.
Her innocence became its prey,
The terror on his face as clear as day.

The sun had set,
Their tears shed.
Taking a piece of each other they bid farewell.

The night came fast,
Her cries drowned in the dark.
Euphoria was miles away.

The seasons changed,
The whirlpool of emotions never to fade.
It could be a new start,
But all that ever stayed was the autumn in her heart.
