Songs,
I can't even listen to them without thinking of you.
The lyrics take me back to the memories we made.
Each song is a different story and it's lyrics a different page.
They all hit different with you around,
But with you gone they're just fragments of my heart I'm too scared to hear.
Too scared to read,
Too scared to feel.
With time I expected things to change
But with expectations comes hope,
Something I've long lost.
I don't even want to find it,
It's just as lost as my heart,
As lost as I am.
I'm empty and hollow,
I'm drained and too small to carry on.
So, I choose to go back to the pain I once embraced.
The pain so deep and my strength so shallow.
I turn songs on my phone and listen to the songs,
Over and over again because that's the only way to feel you,
To feel the pain.
