When Jesus washed the feet of His disciples, getting served by their master was not optional. Jesus says to Peter directly that if he wouldn't allow Jesus to wash his feet, he had nothing to do with Jesus. Similarly if we do not allow Jesus to change our lives, serve our personal needs, we cannot be part of His ministry.
It is easy to imagine that Jesus has called me because He has use for me. I am called to a higher purpose. But reality is this that Jesus wants to change us first, wash us first, before we can have a part in His ministry. Will we allow Him to cleanse our lives first?
