jane cooper was only 16 when she gave birth to reese marie cooper. the father left when he heard jane was pregnant. it was a hard time for a 16 year old girl to take care of a baby but she never gave up. on the age of 20 jane moved to a small town in indiana called hawkins. they lived in a house just outside town.
after a month or two jane got a job inside town where she met joyce byers who had a kid just about reese's age. the two kids and the two moms got along well. everything in hawkins was normal, it was nice and quiet.
reese liked the quietness around her small house. she loved to just sit in her hammock and read books. or she would spend time with jonathan. the byers house has been kind of like a second house for reese.
reese also had quite good grades in school. school was a place the girl was sort of invisible. in elementary school she had more friends than only jonathan, such as nancy wheeler and barbara holland. nancy had gotten quit popular by dating steve 'the hair' harrington.
steve knew reese, he liked how he could annoy her easily at the beginning but as she grew older reese had learned how to stand up for herself. this, the boy didn't like at all.
a couple years going by hawkins wasn't a normal town anymore. stuff no one could explain happening, people vanishing, people appearing, reese could swear hawkins was becoming a horror town. what if she's right?
