Painful Sight

Betty's POV
I was with Kevin today, I was wanting to get to know everyone, we were at his house as he taught me how to play this board game and he made special cards for me since I'm blind.

As we walked downstairs I heard him say "thirsty?"

I shook my head and said "Kevin...may I ask you something?"

He said "sure."

I gulped lightly saying "Veronica said you and Archie...have a thing...I just wanted to ask if you've... if you have made out...or if you are not that close yet?"

He then laughed and said "are you and Jughead getting that serious?"

I smiled saying "since we made it official a week ago I wanna start...taking our relationship to more then just kisses I want to try and...you know. It's harder when...I want to know how he looks like and...it's difficult because...I can never tell him if he's handsome...I just want to give him something that he will like."

I sat down saying "my last boyfriends...weren't really nice...well, they weren't even boyfriends, mainly just crushes that...that were horrible at the end."

He asked "what has happened?"

I sighed and said "before...boys when they would ask to see my face...they would scream... panic...saying... I'm a monster...I looked hideous...but with Jughead...he asked but he didn't run away. With them they ran, or they picked on me..."

I sniffled and sat down saying "or if they didn't accept me...the parents wouldn't...they'd say that I was too gross, they would never allow someone like me to be apart of their family. They didn't want their grandkids one day to look like a monster...so I...just gave up. But Jughead's dad...he was so sweet...he was happy that Jughead was happy..."

I sighed and took my glasses off as I said "I'm just...I'm just happier here."

I felt him hold my hand saying "I want to help you badly Betty so...I will tell you this. I have a major crush on Archie but I haven't told him yet. But a good thing is he came out to me. So there's a chance."

I smiled saying "how about we...change that?"

He then said "what do you mean?"

I smirked saying "I know how to get to his house. I'll tell him."

He then said "I'm nervous..."

I smiled saying "hey, I was too, but hey if Archie doesn't like you, he sucks."

I heard him laugh and I felt him hug me.

I hugged him back saying "don't worry, he will love you! Especially since you guys have been friends for like ever."

Suddenly I felt my phone buzz and I answered it.

I said "who is it?"

Suddenly I heard "Elizabeth! Get home ASAP! Hurry!"

She hung up and I said "my mom, it's an emergency, I've gotta go sorry Kev, maybe another day?"

He then said "want me to drive you?"

I nodded and we left. When I got home I was with my mom as she was freaking out from what I could hear.

She said "the hospital finally came back saying they think they may be able to figure out your eye situation!"

I smiled and yelled "really!?"

She then said "yes! It's going to be a long process I went and already grabbed your meds but this December."

I smiled saying "I'm...im gonna be able to see again?"

She then said "possibly, if the surgery goes well then all you must do is just take medicines of course and just take care of yourself."

I smiled and began crying and she held me saying "I told you...we are going to try everything okay?"

I nodded and she kissed my head and I sniffled lightly holding her tighter. Later that day I went over to Jughead's, I knocked on the door and heard it open.

I heard him say "Betty? What are you doing here?"

I then said "Jughead...the Riverdale Hospital called and told my mom their may be a surgery that can perform to get my eyesight back!"

He suddenly picked me up and I yelped as I held him tightly.

He said "that's amazing!"

I laughed and nodded "it's in December... I'm so nervous but excited..."

I sighed and smiled as he asked "what's wrong?"

I then said "what?"

He then said "Betty, even though I've only you for a few weeks, it doesn't mean I don't understand your body language, what's wrong?"

I sighed and said "what if the surgery doesn't go out right? What if I can never see again?"

He said "and if it doesn't... I'll be by your side everyday till we can find something."

I smiled saying "you'd really do that?"

He said "of course...and even if you can't ever see again...it won't matter because your everything to me."

I smiled and he kissed me, I held his waist gently and kissed him back as he pulled away.

He said "I will always be here for you..."

I nodded and he kissed my forehead as I smiled. Before I got home I stopped by Archie's house, I knocked on the door.

I heard "Betty?"

I then also heard "Archie who is it?"

I gulped lightly as Archie said "it's just a friend mom."

He then said "come in."

I nodded and felt around me lightly as he said "here..."

He grabbed my hand and I followed him.

He said "stairs."

I held onto a railing and walked up them, we then got to a room and I sat down on I seat.

He asked "so, why are you here?"

I smiled lightly and said "well one...I'm getting an eye surgery here in Riverdale."

I heard him say "that's awesome Betty, congrats."

I nodded and said "but...there's another..."

He then said "what's wrong?"

I sighed and said "Kevin...he really, really likes you and really wants to ask you out but he's so shy and doesn't wanna ruin your guy's friendship...but he really, really likes you..."

I then heard him say "he...likes me? Like a lot?"

I nodded and reached out and found his chest and I grabbed his shoulders.

I said "please ask him out? He's too afraid."

He laughed and said "sure...sure yeah I'll ask him."

I smiled and hugged him and he hugged me back.

I said "I've gotta go now or else my mom will get upset, I hope you guys do well!"

And I ran back home.
