"I lie about everything," Honey said. "Everything I said forget it." She sighed. "The only truth you need to know is the one I'm going to tell you."
"Than finish telling me," Hades said. She nodded.
"As I said before, they were in love, my parents," she said. "Don't worry I'll get to how I ended up where I am."
"Alright continue," she fiddle with a string.
"Well they loved each very much, but there was someone who didn't like it," she said. "You see, Mary was the daughter of an Alpha. And his father approved, wanting his daughter to be happy was his priority. So did her mother. They both approve. She was an only child." Honey looked down. "Than there was the Beta. He was the one that didn't agree with Mary dating a vampire. He said it would take her soul. But no one cared, as long as Mary was happy. Which she was happy Edward was everything to her. Things were going so well." She laid back, snuggling close to him. "They got married, moved to a nice home. Her father's Beta was angry. He began acting strange, and things were happening around. Attacks happened, and they blamed it on the vampires." Hades held her closer. "Little by little things were going downhill. They accused Edward of leading the vampires to attack the pack. But Mary said it wasn't true. Her father defended Edward. The pack didn't know who to believe. It went on for three to five years."
"This Beta he wanted Mary for himself didn't he?" Hades asked.
"Yes, and he did get her," Honey said. "Kidnapped her more like it. But Edward found her. But things didn't go well. Her parents were killed and blamed Edward for it. They loved each other so much that they ran away. But that didn't mean, the Beta was after them. He took over the pack. Invaded the vampire territory and killed innocent people, and imprison the rest. Those who didn't like it went into prison. Some packs member didn't like the Beta."
"Who was this Beta?" Hades asked.
"Carter, it's his name," Honey looked at him. "He wanted power. And he got power, from both sides. Edward had arguments with Mary, to the point where he would get furious and hit her."
"But he loved her, why would he hit her?" Hades asked.
"He was angry that Mary wanted to go back to the pack to talk to Carter," she bit her lower lip. "To make peace." He looked at her. "He would hit her every time she would mention it. Mary didn't run away from, though. She loved him too much. So she endured it, tried her best not to get him angry."
"You know I won't even lay a hand on you, ever," he said and kissed her.
"I know," she smiled. "Anyways, things were going okay. It seems like things had calm down. Again two years passed. Carter eventually found them and tried talking Mary into leaving Edward. But Mary wouldn't leave, she loved Edward and nothing would get her to leave him. Carter then had plans, one night he tricked Mary into just going out to talk. Now Edward didn't know Carter had found them, or that he was talking to Mary. So Mary went along, and when they were far from the house. Carter grabbed her and forced her to get into a carriage. When Edward found out, it was too late."
"This Carter guy," Hades frowned. "I don't know him, and he already pissed me off." Honey-kissed him. "Sorry continue."
"Edward was angry, he followed her scent and didn't stop until he found her. It took him three days. When he found her, it was in bed with Carter. Edward went mad and went to kill Carter. They fought, Mary crying in the background say nothing happened. That Carter somehow drugged her. Edward wasn't listening." Honey cuddle closer to Hades.
"I can already tell how this will end," Hades said holding her tightly.
"Eventually Edward let Carter go, and went to Mary. He dragged her along and into the carriage and drove not stopping until reaching home. Once there Edward accused Mary of betraying him. Of not listening to him or obeying him. He beat her constantly, forced her to sleep with him, even when she was in pain from the beatings. And yet Mary stayed with him. Carter than talked to another pack, which was close to were Mary and Edward where. Edward kept on getting attacked, but never attacked Mary. It's Mary who the pack was trying to save. It only made it worse for her. They would save her; she would go back to him. And there came the abuse." She gripped Hade's arm. "Carter had enough; he challenged Edward to battle until death."
"That sounds horrible," Hades said.
"They agreed," she said. "Mary didn't like it. She begged Edward not to do it. But he wouldn't listen. When the day came, Edward told Mary not to leave the house. Of course, Mary didn't listen. When Edward and Carter were fighting, Mary watched from behind a tree. She wanted to stop them. Carter only wanted for her to be safe, even after he killed her parents. She guesses, Carter had a change of heart. In the end, Carter lost his life. And Edward became angrier."
"And more beatings?" Hades asked. She nodded.
"He felt anger," Honey said. "The beatings were more badly. Bad that Mary would stay in bed all day long. She would be left on the floor all bloody and in pain. Until she found out, she was pregnant. Then she fought back as best as she could. She would do what he told her to do. She would avoid him. Mary wanted to tell Edward but didn't know how he would react. Eventually, her stomach grew, and she told him. He was happy. For once, Mary saw him smile. And from then on, he treated her well. No beatings, nothing of that. Mary was happy he was back to his old self." She smiled. "When it was time, Edward wasn't home. He had left to do some stuff. Mary didn't know what to do, or where to go."
"When was this?" Hades asked. "What year?"
"1800s," she said. "But it was December 25, 1890, when Mary gave birth to twins." She looked down. "Twins girls, identical twins, same everything. Mary had to do it all on her own. But she managed on her own, she cleaned them and dressed them. And Mary was still in pain. She waited in her bedroom for Edward. When he came back, he apologizes to her. Saying he got caught up in some stuff. But it was a lie; he had a claw mark on his arm. Eventually, he told her the truth that he was trying to get them back to the old pack. Eventually, he succeeded. He had come to terms with the Alpha, who was related to Mary. And so they went home. But they didn't know where to live, so they decided to live among the humans. It would be easy for them." Honey smiled. "They settle down, but now they had to face Mary's relative. He wasn't happy about all that had happened. He demanded that a vampire and a wolf won't interact with each other unless they were in town. They won't step foot on either territory. A vampire would not step foot in wolf territory. And a wolf would not step foot into vampire territory." Hades frowned, that ruled sounds so stupid.
"No wonder that rule there," Hades shook his head.
"But now Mary and Edward had to decide what to do with there girls," Honey said. "One was a full-blooded wolf and the other one a full-blooded vampire." Hades kissed her forehead. "They tried convincing Brad, Mary cousin. To let the girls live in the wolf territory. He did agree, though the pack didn't. And he wouldn't go against what the pack said. He had to think about them too, to keep them safe. They just decided to move. They never got the chance to move. Carters family went hunting for them." Hades saw the sadness in Honeys eyes. "They got to them, Edward told Mary to leave and take the girls. She obeyed and left. Edward promised he would find them. That he would join them, but he didn't. Nobody was found, not a trace of him. Carters family didn't speak, nor said what they did. They took that secret to there grave. Mary was too sad; she couldn't care for her kids. Now Edward did have a family."
"Such as your father and mother?" Hades said. Honey smiled.
"Yes, I'm getting there," she said. "They found Mary and helped her. But Mary fell into a deep depression. One night she fell asleep and never woke up."
"Oh," Hades held her closer wiping away a tear.
"The family made a decision," Honey said. "Which was bad and good. Who would care for Mary's children."
Hades could only imagine the pain Mary went through. Not being able to know what happened to her loved one. That is dreadful. He would never do anything like that to Honey.
Now he can understand why Honey is desperately trying to make their relationship work. It will be to prove that what happened to her parents. Won't ever happen again. And Hades knows that won't ever happen. There is no way the past is repeating itself, no way. He will make sure to make Honey the happiest woman on the planet.
