Chapter 3
Adelaide's POV
It was Sunday. That meant that at 3 o'clock I'd need to be teaching Luke how to play the trumpet when I barely I know how to hold one. Well, that Ash guy taught me some basic things but it's not as if I remembered any of it, I was too busy thinking about how much of an idiot I am for telling Luke I played the trumpet. Who does that? Adelaide Thompson that's who. Not to mention that Luke was coming over at 3, and me being the lazy teenager I am I waited until 1.30 to start getting ready, which I honestly think is quite good for me, as that's 5 minutes after I woke up.
It was 3.15pm when Luke finally arrived, it felt like I was waiting for 15 hours never mind 15 minutes. I barely even knew the guy I mean who cares right? All I know is he's my math teachers son who I hit with a spoon and basically lied to about knowing how to play the trumpet. I guess I could always just tell him I don't actually know how to play the trumpet or that I only just started to play but I want to impress him. I don't impress a lot of people might I add.
"Hey." I answered the door to see him smirking at me. "What?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows.
"My mums got food poisoning, I blame you with your chicken." He chuckled, he looked good. Well apart from the fact he had a black eye.
He was wearing his hair in a quiff thing that literally all the boys at school have but Luke actually looked good, last night his hair was flat and he had a SnapBack on backwards, I thought he was going bald at first but now I know he's not since he's got his hair up. He was wearing a red checked flannel over a black teeshirt that had rips in it, he was also wearing ripped jeans. Does he wash his clothes with scissors or something?
"Why are you staring at my feet?" Luke chuckled awkwardly. Oh my god I didn't even notice that I was just starting at him, he must think I'm such a weirdo.
"Oh- I-I uhm...I like your shoes?" I pointed at his flip flops. Okay, he's the weirdo now.
"Oh my thongs? Yeah thanks, they're actually my brothers. I guess I'll have to wear them more often if it gets the ladies attention." He smirked wiggling his toes.
"Yeah." I nodded. "You can come in you know." I moved to the side.
I led him into my room, which was literally messier than a 5 year olds room on Boxing Day.
"You like Justin Bieber?" He laughed pointing to my bed, which had his face on it and was unmade.
"Yeah I guess." I nodded, embarrassed by how messy my room was. I didn't even realise how bad it was.
"So what songs do you know on the trumpet?" Luke asked watching me pull out my trumpet.
"Oh you know...a few? I'll teach you how to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, it was the first song I learned." I'm not exactly lying, it's true. I can play a few songs just not very good. Plus, Ashton taught me Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 24 hours ago and I literally stayed up till 4am trying to practice.
"Cool, hey maybe we could start a trumpet band!" He joked, my God is he in for a treat when he realises I can't even hold this thing.
"Y-yeah?" I picked the stupid trumpet up. "I only have one so we'll need to share if you don't mind." I said getting ready to start playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
"So how long have you played?" He asked me, sitting cross legged on my bed.
"Don't know, lost count." I shrugged, it's true I don't know the exact time I started playing, I just know it was yesterday.
He nodded and I started playing. I was trying to be good but I don't think it was really working out.
"Woo! Teach me!" He grabbed the trumpet from me, not even bothering to wipe where my mouth had been and putting his lips around it. We technically are exchanging saliva so we're going to get married next week. Kidding.
"I uhm..." I began explaining to him how to play the trumpet, my trumpet.
"Yes! Next Sunday can we learn a real song? Not Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, that's like the most basic song you could've picked." He scoffed after I had pretended like I knew how to teach him how to play the trumpet when in reality I was just telling him what I could remember ashton telling me.
"Yeah." I nodded not knowing how to respond.
"Maybe I could get your number?" He asked looking at me hopefully.
"Yeah." I nodded reaching for my phone. "You ready?" I looked up at him, ready to read my number out which he nodded to. "It's *** *** **** text me later?" and as soon as I had asked there was a flash in my eyes, signalling that he had just took a picture of me.
"Sorry, I need an icon for you. And yes, I'll text you later Adelaide." He grinned getting up. The way he said my name literally made my want to stab myself till I die he's so hot and blonde.
"I will see you soon Luke." I smiled walking him to my front door.
"Thanks for the lesson, I enjoyed it." He thanked me before walking out my house, closing the door behind him.
Wow.
