Chapter 13

Adelaide's POV

I lay still on my bed, emotionless. How dare Luke talk about my mother, he shouldn't even know what happened. Michael probably attacked him or something because he sounded really angry. I wanted to talk to him but he might think I'm clingy or something, and I don't even know if he likes me. What if he likes someone else? Why am I even worrying about this? I really have to get a life that doesn't involve obsessing over Michael, Luke and Justin Bieber. I was about to find something to eat when my phone vibrated.

Luke: We need to talk.

I really didn't have time for Luke's shit, or anybody's shit in general. My phone kept going off but I ignored it, it was probably him phoning me or something. I honestly couldn't care less.

Luke: I'm outside your house.

I ran to the front door and there he was just standing. His face was red and it better be because Michael beat him.

"Can you please leave, when you stand there you bring the property value of this house down." I said flatly.

"I'm here to apologise for earlier." Luke said with a hopeful look. "Uh...sorry."

"Go away." I replied. I turned on my heel and went back inside, closing the door. I was done with all the drama for today so I decided to go to the music shop. I wanted to see Ashton again so I might as well get some new music while I do.

I got a bus into town and walked the rest of the way. I hoped Ashton was working. When I got inside the shop, there he was standing behind the counter. I was pleased to see his face, he seems like the only person I know who isn't involved in my drama.

"Hey," I said, as he looked up from the floor.

"Hi!" He giggled. "What're you doing here?"

"I was bored and pissed off some I want to buy music." I explained.

"Oh, okay." He smiled. "How are the trumpet lessons going with that guy?"

"Uh...can we not talk about that?" I gulped. "They aren't really going so well, he found out I couldn't play."

"Oh."

I smiled then walked off to look at music. I wasn't really concentrating though. All I could think about was Luke. He was running about my brain and it wouldn't stop. I hate him but I think I still like him, what is wrong with me?!

"You know," Ashton began. "Some guy came in here for a guitar tuner and I think he thought I was hot or something."

"How do you know that?" I laughed.

"He kept smirking at me!"

"He could just have a weird mouth or something!" I laughed. "So are you, uh...you know."

"Gay? Nah, I'm straight." He replied.

"Uh, yeah me too."

Ashton checked his phone and gave a worried expression.

"Shit, I have to go." He said.

"I thought this was your shift...?" I asked.

"It is." He rushed. "But I have somewhere to be."

"Oh, where?" I questioned. Ashton walked over to me and leaned close to my ear.

"I'll never tell." He whispered. Then he switched to his normal voice. "Can you cover for me?"

"What, me?! But I don't work here, what would I do?!" I exclaimed.

"It's only a cash register! Just tell people your new and they won't ask for stuff." He made it sound simple, I bet it wasn't. "No one comes in here most of the time anyway!"

"Fine, I'll do it." I sighed.

"Thank you!' He smiled, his dimples showing slightly. He ran out the door and left me on my own with a shop. Then he poked his head through the door.

"I'll be back in hour!"

Then he left.

I stood for the first twenty-five minutes doing nothing. Ashton was right, nobody really came here. Eventually a customer came in. I lifted my head to look and of course, Michael walked through the door.

"Hey Ade, where's the hot boy?" He smirked.

"If you mean Ashton, then he's out somewhere." I replied. "What do you want?"

"I don't know, I just came here because I was bored."

"Wait, are you the guy that bought the guitar tuner yesterday?"

"Yeah, why?" He looked confused.

"Ashton was confused at why you were smirking at him. He thinks you think that he's hot." I said with a grin.

"Well he was hot." Michael sighed. "He thinks that I'm a weirdo now."

I picked at my nails, not really knowing what to say.

"Did Luke apologise to you?" Michael asked.

"Well, kinda but I slammed the door in his face because he was pissing me off still." I replied.

"He better apologise properly or I'll punch him harder." He said, seriously.

"You punched him?!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"

"He's a moron but you didn't have to do that!" I laughed. "It's still kind of funny but that's not the point."

We talked for another while, about fifteen minutes then Michael had to go. We said goodbye then he left the shop leaving me alone in there again. I just sat on my phone until Ashton eventually came back.

"You're ten minutes late!" I joked.

"Sorry, I got caught up in something." He laughed.

"Are you gonna tell me where you went...?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Maybe, maybe not." He said.

"I hate you." I said smiling. He pretended to look hurt, then saw my face and laughed.

"You'd better go." He said.

"Yeah." I replied. "I enjoyed this. Well when you were actually here!"

"Could I get your number? So we can text and stuff." Ashton said hopefully.

"Sure!" We exchanged numbers and I went to the door to leave.

"I'll see you soon, Ashley." I said with a smile

"You're doing that deliberately now, aren't you?"
