Adelaide's POV

There comes a time in everyone's life, where you have to go to school. Some like it, others hate it, but we can all agree that it's too early in the morning. And if you don't make an effort to look good you become 'The weirdo who is ugly'. So I have to roll out of bed like a caterpillar, and try to look pretty.

I just pull on some random clothes that look like they might match, then I realise how bad they look so I put on a outfit that could be presentable. I don't wear much makeup to school because if I rub my eyes it's the end of the world. I just wear some foundation and some mascara and stuff. I usually just brush my hair and put hairspray in it so it doesn't fly about.

Once I look like a human again, I plod down the stairs and to the kitchen. I have the joy of meeting my little brother Greig who is sitting and eating a sausage. I don't have an appetite in the morning really so I just poured a small bowl of cornflakes and I ate them with a spoon.

"Adelaide!!" Grieg whined "Can you go upstairs because you're making my sausage taste weird."

I sighed "It probably tastes weird because you put salt and ketchup on it."

Then suddenly, there are loud footsteps and my 20-year-old brother Keith, emerges from his room. We don't see much of him because he is usually sleeping or doing college work in his room and he only comes down for meals, snacks and drinks.

"Mate, you look like shit. We made an effort before we came downstairs!" I said pointing at Greig and myself.

"Shut up, you have an easy life all you do is go to school." He told me and and I was about to walk over to slap him but then I just threw the spoon and it hit him in the upper arm.

I brushed my teeth then I grabbed my bag and left for school. I had to get the bus because I can't drive to school and walking is too hard for my legs to handle.

I sat at the bus stop when I realised who I was sitting next to.

"Ashton?" I questioned him, he turned around and smiled at me.

"Oh hey! Uh..." He began.

"Adelaide." I finished for him. "I forgot you didn't know my name!"

"Uh, why are you getting the bus?"

"Oh, I still have a year of hell-I mean school left." I explained as he laughed a little. "Why are you getting the bus then, Ashley?"

"I have to start early at the music shop sometimes, and I get the bus because it's in town." He told me. "Oh and my name's still Ashton."

"Oops, sorry!"

"Anyway" Ashton started. "How did your trumpet lesson with the hot kid go?"

"Well, I taught him to play 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' but I don't know if he believes I can actually play or not." I told him. "I also got his number and he said we could start a trumpet band, but I don't think we will because he judges me for liking Justin Bieber." Ashton laughed and I continued. "It's kind of awkward because his I gave his mum food poisoning and she's my maths teacher!"

"Why was your maths teacher eating your food and who is your maths teacher anyway?" Ashton asked me looking slightly disgusted.

"Mrs Hemmings, or Liz comes over once every month and she discusses work with my dad because he teaches English, -you'd probably know him as Mr Thomson, first name John- and I have to cook the dinner but clearly Friday night's chicken tikka was up to standards because she had food poisoning apparently."

"I've had Mrs Hemmings for maths, but I've never had your dad for English." He told me.

I saw my bus coming down the street and so I stood up.

"That's my bus," I smiled "I'll probably bump into you in some other random place though!" I waved at Ashton and got on the bus ready to face a day of school.
