Chapter 7

Adelaide's POV

Thursday

God help me. Guess whos birthday it is? Mine. I hate my Birthday, it's just another reminder that I have no friends to accompany me wherever I would choose to go to, that I'm a year closer to the grave, corny family photos, corny family dinners, out of date cheesecake, scented candles from everyone in my family and crying over Justin Bieber but that's got nothing to do with my birthday since I cry over him every night.

"Happy Birthday!!" Dad yelled as soon as I walked downstairs. There was confetti thrown at me and bunting on the walls, this family is such an embarrasment.

"Thanks." Was all I said, I'll have to say that about 100 times today for this stupid family dinner, literally on my dads side there is 13550282295820 people, people who I don't even know, people who are going to come up to me and kiss my cheek and talk about how they haven't saw me since I was 3 months old. Not creepy at all.

I decieded to text Luke on my way to school that I couldn't get tutoured tonight since it was my birthday. One thing I've learned about Luke is that he is the worst texter in the world. He texts you first, you answer, he answers, you answer, he doesn't answer untill 3 hours later, you answer, he reads and ignores it, he answers 30 minutes later and it' an on going cycle. You're better to call him but it's like 8.30, he's probably in school with all of his friends and is way too busy to answer a call from me.

"Adelaide, can I talk to you for a second?" Mrs Hemmings asked me on my way out of Math class.

"Yeah, sure." I nodded, it's probably about tutoring or something.

"Take a seat," she told me so I sat in the front desk seen as I was at the back corner of the class and that would've been awkward if she was yelling at me because thats a longer walk out of the class. "How are you and Luke getting on with tutoring?"

"Good actually," I nodded but she looked as if she wanted more deatail so I told her some more. "Oh, we did algebra for like 2 hours and then we ate some pasta."

"Yeah, I was wondering why he never ate last night when he came in," she bit her lip slighly. "Anyway, you better go. I'm sure you've got to be home for your birthday." She nodded for me to leave, not that it mattered even if I sprint out the building, I'll still be stuck behind slow walkers.

Friday

Luke suggested that we move our tutoring session to today, I obviously declined. I'd much rather go to McDonalds with Michael (who I had never even met before) than sit for 2 hours doing more algebra with Luke, well apart from if Michael wasn't a nice person but from what I've learned so far is that he is.

I got to McDonalds but I couldn't see Michael so I stood in the line to get food so that it was ready for when he got here, I decided to be a good person and pay for both of our foods so I texted him and asked him what he said wanted. After I had got the food I looked around for a table but I couldn't see one so I just stood there with a mountain of food on my plate in the corner of the room waiting for someone to get up and leave so I could get a table for Michael and I. My thoughts distracted me as I felt someone tap my shoulder.

"A-Are you Adelaide?" The person asked, who was obviously Michael because who else would be asking who I was?

"Yeah," I chuckled. "You're Michael?" Holy hell he looked so good like effortlessly good, his hair is blue and I want to cry he's so beautiful I'm dead.

"Hey, it's really busy in here. Let's go eat in my car or something?" Michael offered which I nodded to, he was really tall. He got into the front seat of his car and took the food off me so I could get in too. "Nice to meet you." He smirked handing me my chicken nuggets.

"Yeah," I nodded. Well this is the most awkward thing I've experienced in my life before.

"I heard it was your birthday yesterday?" Michael asked which I once again nodded to, "Here, I got you a gift." He reached into the back seat and pulled out a plastic bag and handed it to me.

"Thanks?" I chuckled and opened it to see the one and only, Justin Bieber perfume. "Oh my god thank you so much." I smiled widely.

"You 18 now?" He asked reaching into the backseat again, God knows what he keeps in the backseat of his car.

"Yeah, why?" I asked and my eyes widen as he pulls out a bottle of whatever alcoholic substance it is. "You can't drink? You're driving." I told him.

"Yeah, I won't you can though." He told me handing the cold bottle.

"I uhm sure?" I nodded, I wanted to impress him I guess. I took a sip of the hideous drink and of course, seen as it was so disgusting my hand jerked and I spilled it down myself. "Uh oops?" I regret wearing white.

"Uh..." Michael went into the backseat once again and started wiping me with tissues. Friendly reminder that I spilled it down my chest and you can see through my shirt.

"I've got it." I moved his hand away taking the tissues away. "Great im going to smell like beer when I get home." I sighed.

"Actually it's whiskey.' Michael stated looking out the window crossing his legs.

"Whatever, either way it's alcohol and my Dad will kill me."

"I can give you a shirt?" He offered.

"Yeah, that'd be nice." I nodded as he reached into the backseat again pulling out a few shirts.

"Hm..." he thought for a moment. "This one would look good on you." He smiled biting his lip slightly handing me a shirt.

"Thanks Mikey." I took it and he turned around so I could change.

"Mikey? Luke calls me Mikey." He chuckled.

"Really?" I smiled, I like Luke.

"Yeah. Can I turn around now?"

"Yeah"

"You look good in my shirt, but Id much prefer it on the floor." Michael smirked leaning closer to me.

"I'll take it home and I'll wash it and I can bring it back to you next time I see you?" I smiled looking up at him.

"Are you a lesbian?" He randomly asked.

"Wh-what?" I asked wondering why he said that, I'm practically in love with Justin Bieber.

"I'm bisexual." He shrugged. "If you're a lesbian I don't care."

"No I'm not?" I shook my head. "I like boys." I nodded.

"Do you like Luke?" He questioned, slouching down in his chair.

"Uh...I don't know..." I shrugged, blushing a little bit.

"It's okay Ade. All of your secrets are safe with me." He smirked sipping at his drink.

"You got any secrets?" I asked looking up at him.

"I'm in a band." He shrugged. "Not really a secret but it's not as if we're very successful."

"Who with?" I smiled.

"Luke and this Asian guy called Calvin." He smirked. "Nah kidding his name is Calum. We need a drummer though. We sound like literal shit."

"I'm sure you're not as bad as you think." I laughed.

"Hey, next week. You can come watch us play?" He suggested.

"Sure." I nodded eating my last chicken nugget.

"You know, we could make Luke jealous?" Michael asked as he pulled up outside my house.

"What do you-" I was cut off from my sentence by Michael, who had suddenly kissed me. I had never kissed anyone before that, not exactly my ideal way to break my lips virginity but hey, he was a good kisser. "O-oh." I nodded pulling away, and started getting out the car.

"I'll see you soon?" He grabbed my hand before I walked away.

"Yeah," I nodded smiling and walking away.

Then he drove away.
