-Goddess-

It had been one fifty in the morning when I woke up to go to the bathroom. I kicked off my covers and handled my business, before falling back into bed. I hadn't bothered to check the time now. The house was dead silent and I could hear faint snores through the walls. I laid my head down, trying to fall back asleep, but my body wouldn't allow the action. Great.

I picked up my phone, knowing that I couldn't call anyone because no one would be awake. The lighting on my cell was dim but still too bright for my room. I got up and turned on my lamp, my eyes adjusting. I scratched my arm pit then checked checked my IG. It was private and dry as hell. I really hadn't posted on it in forever and all of the pictures were old as time.

I went off of there then text someone who I knew would be awake.

Me: hey. any news on the L case?
Unsaved Ass #🥸: hey boss. ur up???? 😟
Me: the point of me not saving your name in my phone was discretion. delete ur boss text. 😐🙄Unsaved Ass #🥸: sorry big D 🤧
Me: any updates? 🤕
Unsaved Ass #🥸: we're sending someone to question Kiersten Jade. And the traitor has officially been terminated along with the rest of the crew we found. we've labeled it as a gang violence murder amongst the group and guilt about shooting Mr. Lavigne.
Me: damn.
Me: well ok den, I'm finna gts.
Unsaved Ass #🥸: big d. wat time we gotta come in today for work??

I checked the date on my Calendar app and froze. Today was my parent's anniversary. They weren't married or no shit, but they picked this date as their anniversary for being together for too l- so long.

Me: no work today. Plus I gotta put my car inna shop.
Unsaved Ass #🥸: word? That must suck. 😬
Me: yup. Gn.

I sighed and shut off my phone. Time to call in some last minute reinforcements to make my parent's anniversary lovely. Flowers, chocolates, and some gift cards sounded like the perfect safe and lovely gifts. My dad might not care so much for anything but the sweets, but it was still a kind gesture. I probably wouldn't have argued as hard as I did yesterday if I had remembered it was their anniversary.

After putting in the necessary calls and mentally preparing myself to pay extra, I finally fell asleep, clutching my phone like a stuffed animal.

That's it.

I'm awake.

I looked around my room and frowned when I didn't see my Pokémon that I won. I growled in frustration and hoped I hadn't left it in my truck. My car was busy in some tow person's lot all alone. What if it accidentally gets crushed? That happens to some people's cars.

I quickly text Nico even though I knew she wouldn't be up. I reluctantly went back to sleep after waiting for a few minutes and tried to chase away all the bad dreams.

I woke up to the sound of shrills of joy. I quickly threw on some pajama bottoms and made an appearance downstairs. I glanced at a clock, and saw that it was 11. We had all slept in late today. I saw my mother sitting down the flowers I got her and dad picking through the chocolate box.

My siblings sleepily watched them, holding their own meager, handmade gifts. Antonio was the only one missing out of this occasion, but I moved my mind past that. I stood at the edge of the staircase, wondering if I had overdone it. Maybe I could lie and say this had been a group effort and everyone had made their own gifts except for me.
