-Esla-I told Coco what Devil had text me then tried to relax back in Dede's seat. "Your sister should-
"My adopted sister," Coco snapped. "Ion share blood with that snotty bitch."
"Your adopted sister should invest in some car cleaning services," I suggested. "I think I feel a cheeto stuck in my ass." Coco snorted and we broke out into laughter. "I'm sorry, but shit," she chuckled. I smiled over at my friend, glad to have her by my side.
"Thank you Coco, I appreciate all of this," I told her sincerely. "I'm glad you do because Dede might cry if she's seen the mileage I be putting on here when she's asleep plus today." I laughed, leaning my elbow against the side of the door.
We pulled up to a vague building and Coco reached into her pocket. She pulled out a wallet and flipped through her cash. "What are you buying?" I asked curiously. "Some shit your lungs couldn't handle," Coco smirked over at me. "I'm not telling you cause I don't want you hooked on this shit like me," her mood turned solemn. "Some days I wake up just to smoke some wild shit then go back to sleep. Not because my body wants to wake up, but because my body is craving what these products and drugs could do for me. Ion want you smoking all day and relying on it to keep you in a good mood. Niggas be hooked on this shit like coffee. Ion want that for you."
I pressed my lips together, giving Coco a small smile. "I appreciate it, but sometimes I feel like I need a good smoke."
"Well, be careful," she warned me.
We got out of the car and I walked closely to Coco, not knowing what to expect. "Do you think Devil is really coming?" I asked her meekly.
"I don't know," Coco answered honestly. "I'm a bit scared myself. I'm not involved in the world her and Nico are in, but I've heard a lot about what she can do," she said with a shudder.
"Well, I've spent time with her too. I would know first hand." My mind flashed back to when Nicotine and Devil had kidnapped me. The torture, her breaking me- the kiss.
We entered into the building and a gun was instantly placed in Coco's face. "Ah!" Coco squealed.
I rose my hands up, terrified as Devil walked up behind the male with the gun. She watched as he glared at Coco. It was a tattered lobby where people were scattered across the room selling things almost like an indoor market. Nobody paid mind to our interaction like this happened daily.
"Name?" the Asian male asked.
"Coco," my friend shot out.
The gun shoved deeper against her forehead and Coco shivered. "Uh, my real name is Coenna Spencer." The man turned to me and I fixed him with a glare. Who the hell was he tryna scaring? My gaze went to Devil and she waved her hand dismissively. "I know that girl. Follow them up to Nico's office. I have something to handle."
I wonder if she really had something to do or if she just wanted to make us wait on her. The Asian dude pressed the gun against Coco's back as he passed by her then walked in front of us to lead us near a stairwell. I assumed the elevators were out of order since we were making a six level climb, then I saw someone coming out of one of the elevators.
"Why are we going up the stairs?"
"Do you want the products or not?" he growled.
Coco shot me a look, but I ignored her and followed closely behind the man. If he wanted to be rude then I could be too. I stepped on the back of his shoe as we went up the steps and he flipped around on me.
