-Goddess-

I travelled through Perry Island, looking out for posters or signs that someone was looking to sell a house. No new construction was going on so that's the only way I'd find a house. I didn't know whether they had apps for this type of shit, or if I had to go through an agent to actually buy a home or not. It would have been helpful to have my parents or at least somebody by my side to help me figure out the confusing world of being an adult and buying important things, but of course, Goddess was all alone.

I pulled over at a gas station and got out my phone. I wonder what Nico had done with Esla's now that I think about it, and how everything's going. If she was going to visit Nicotine to ask about getting money for her family, I sort of would have liked to been there just to see her again...but I have this shit to do. And only thirty days to do it.

I went to my App Store and downloaded as many realtor apps as I could. I consulted the internet on tips on buying a house as I waited for my slow data to speed up the downloading process. Cracked foundations? Pest control? Flood insurance? This was a lot. I held my head in my heads, staring at my phone in my lap.

"What am I gonna do?" I murmured.

My phone buzzed and I saw that it was Legend.

Legend of Korruh: hey if ur not still busy I convinced nicotine dat we should all hang out 2 relieve sum stress ❤️
Me: typing...

I mean, I know I have a responsibility to take care of, but maybe I could get to the bottom of Nicotine's weird attitude and actually get some assistance with looking for places to live. Maybe I was even making too big of a move; maybe I should start off with an apartment.

Legend of Korruh: if u cant cum we understand dat 😏
Me: ur turnin into me, n idk if I like dat 😭
Me: daddy's cumin 😳
Legend of Korruh: bet, I'll drop the addy. We're already there. ☺️

Legend sent me the address to a bar, and upon further inspection, it was a topless one. I blushed, then put the address into my phone. I was glad we got to see Legend more since she had been working both of her jobs pretty hard as my employee and at Main Event, but I have to admit a part of me was still jealous about her being there with Nicotine without me.

I arrived at the bar and pulled into a spot halfway from the entrance. I decided I wasn't gonna text them that I was here. I wanted to possibly catch them doing something. I hurriedly made my way inside and realized there were reservations for this place. Oh so they fancy? I quickly told them who I was there to join then quickly tried to spot Legend and Nico before they realized I was here.

The bar was your typical bar minus some of the more needy people oogling at the waitresses as they served drinks and fast food. It smelled like heavy perfume and a mixture of drinks in here, and everyone seemed slightly off to me... but maybe it was just the alcohol.

Nico and Legend were laughing about something and sharing a slice of cake, genuine joy on Nico's face. My heart felt crushed as I watched her interact with Legend. She had been so moody and emotional around me lately. Was her mood swings because of me? Was it something that I was doing?

I text Legend and Nicotine that I was walking in. Then a few seconds later started approaching them.

"Hey," I said to both of them, trying to register if Nicotine was going to be bitter towards me again. "Took you long enough," her words slurred as she got a bottle of a drink I didn't know and sloppily poured it into her glass.

"I told them not to give her the whole bottle, she was already drunk before we came here," Legend shook her head.

It didn't seem like she had been stopping her a few moments ago, but I kept my mouth shut. It was a table seated for two, but there were three people here. I awkwardly stood, waiting for someone to do something. "Oh, uh, I'll get someone to bring you a seat," Legend realized I was still standing. She grabbed her cup and sipped on it as she walked towards a waitress without a bra nor a shirt on. Her larger breasts hung beautifully and little designs were drawn around them to make them look like two suns.

"Nicotine, how much have you been drinking?" I nudged her, and she gave me a drunk smirk. "Not enough. Not...long enough."

I guess I'll be driving unless I send for a car, I grumbled in my head. The waitress came over and gingerly placed a chair at the head of the table with a grin at me. "A chair for someone special." I didn't know what to say back, but she pulled out a notepad and looked at me expectantly.

"What would you like to order?"

"Some Henny, and some Sprite," I then added looking over at Nico. "And some water."

"And who will be the designated driver of your group?" she asked us. Noticing our expressions of surprise she only shrugged. "Bar policies set by the owner."

"We'll be ordering an Uber," I told her.

She nodded and jotted that down. "I'll be seeing you out to your Uber then," she told us. "Anything else for you darling ladies?" Her brown skin contrasting with the skin paint glowed in the dim lighting as the scent of cigars and various liquors wafted through the air.

"If you were on the menu..." I sighed, winking at her.

"Maybe I am," she smirked, the jeans shorts she wore riding up as she sauntered away, her thick ass jiggling. Fuck Nicotine, I wanted some of that. "Devil, you're so- I mean, uh, what do you want me to call you?" Legend asked me.

I was a little irritated that Nicotine had mentioned my...name struggle to someone but shrugged. "Goddess, Devil, whatever unless we're at work." She nodded and finished her glass. "I think I want to take one of these girls home but I'm too young."

"Fake ID barely worked?" I asked with a smug smile.

"Perhaps," Legend laughed, not telling me a direct answer. Nicotine was slumped in her chair, the bottle she had spilling onto the lap of her pants. I got the bottle off of her and tried to make good use of the napkins that were on the table. She was such a mess right now.

I grabbed her bottle and took a swig out of it, nearly falling out of my chair as the drink punched me back in the throat. "Damn," I rasped, hitting at my chest. I hadn't expected that. No wonder Nicotine was so gone. Our waitress came back with our drinks and Legend excused herself to the bathroom. This really wasn't feeling like a bonding moment, more like me taking care of Nicotine.

It suddenly struck me that this must be how Nicotine feels around me. Like she's taking care of me all the time and dealing with my childishness. As the drink began to slowly muddle my mind, I realized that maybe I'm just overprotective about Nicotine because she was my only close friend.

"Maybe I don't like you after all," I turned to her slumped over figure, taking another swig of her drink, then sipping my own.
