"Dominic."
"The name's Dominic."
Mia turned to him and saw he was casually leaning in his chair. She arched her eyebrows as if waiting to know more about him. However, Dominic stayed still without continuing anymore.
"Have you heard of the infamous brothers of the AOMG Robbers?" Theodore asked.
Mia scoffed. How was she suppose to know about robbers.
"Do I look like I know about criminals?"
"You're siding with them." Theodore tilted his head and smiled amusingly.
"That doesn't mean I'd know about all criminals." She huffed.
"Dominic here has lost his brother six years ago. I'm sure you do know what I'm talking about, right Mia?" Theodore leaned in.
"That night. You were there. You can tell us what happened."
Mia froze.
She didn't expect to be investigated very soon like this or that's what she thought was going on.
But Theodore and Dominic just wanted to know the facts. They needed to gather evidence so that they could join forces and expose the Royals.
However, Mia was startled at this unexpected question.
What she had planned could not be ruined. It was too early for her to reveal what happened that night; one that she had carried with her all this years.
Mia looked down and spoke in a low voice, "I was there. That's right."
Dominic and Theodore waited patiently for her to continue.
"I... I saw a dark figure at first. He was running towards the tunnel. Then, I heard loud noises behind him so I hid myself behind the wall."
"That man. He had his face hidden behind a mask."
Hearing her mention a masked man, Dominic knew it was Gray she was talking about.
"Before he knew, the man was surrounded by the enemies. I think they wanted something from him." She paused and continued "his duffel bag. Yes...there was something in his duffel bag that they wanted."
"One of them or perhaps it was their leader that stepped forward to talk to the masked man..."
The room was more silent than ever.
"The masked man...he knew he was outnumbered so he surrendered and raised his hands after passing him his bag....and...the next thing that happened..."
"He was dead!" Mia said in a petrified tone and teared up.
