"Winter?"
"There you are. I've been looking for you, you know I was just about to..."
Sniff
Simon was startled at the sight before him.
"Winter? What's wrong?"
Simon rushes towards her and kneels down. His heart skips a beat as he sees her on the floor in an emotional mess.
"I....uh...I...." Simon stammers not knowing what to say because he was petrified to see her in that state.
"Don't cry....tell me what's wrong. Tell me."
Simon hugs her head to his chest.
"Did anyone bully you, huh? Tell me right now and I'll...."
"No!"
Simon was surprised at her small outburst.
"Are you hiding anything from me, Simon?" asks Winter in a weak voice.
Simon blinks rapidly trying to understand what she meant by that.
She couldn't possibly know, could she?
Simon swallows hard before answering her, "Winter...what are you saying?"
"Lets get you up first."
Simon tries to hold her up but Winter evades his touch and questions him again.
"Some thing is going on. Right?"
"What are you hiding Simon? Please..." begs Winter while looking into his eyes searching for answer.
"I...."
Simon couldn't say a word. No matter how hard he tried to speak up, he felt as if he was being choked.
Blood rushes to his face and fear is written all over his face.
The world he planned to build for them seemed to be crumbling down slowly.
Thud
The door slams open by Butler Lee right then.
"There is an intruder inside the mansion, Young Master!"
His voice was hurried and impatient.
Simon's eyes widen in shock and his lips part making an inaudible gasp.
He gets up with Winter and holds her hand in a tight grip.
"Summon all the guards!"
Butler Lee nodded.
"Not even a fly should escape today."
Winter could feel Simon tremble even though he looked tough and hard on the outside.
She looked up to see him staring at her with a lonely but resolute face that said that he was ready to go all in to fight for her and keep her.
"You're staying in the hidden room. Don't come out until I say so."
"Simon what is...."
"Please...I'll come clean after we catch the intruder. Whatever you want to know, I'll tell you...but please, just listen to me for now. Okay?"
Winter nodded silently.
"Lets go."
