Chapter 15.

Six years ago....

"Father...how could you?"

"I'm sorry son."

"Does mother know?"

"No! She doesn't..." Leonard sighs.

Simon paces up and down in the room raking his brain.

"What are we going to do?"

"No Simon no! This has nothing to do with you."
"I promise...I'll take care of this. Okay?" Leonard said as he held Simon's face in his large palms and tried to assure him that everything was going to be alright.
"Look at me son. Look at me!"

Simon gazes up at his father.

"This will be the last time and I have made it sure. No more of this....once the deal is over..."

"But..."

"I have taken care of everything Simon. We just need the deal to go smoothly."

"Your highness? The car is ready to depart."
Butler Lee informs.

Leonard nods.

"I'm coming with you." Simon turns to leave too.

"Simon, no!" Leonard raises his voice "I told you I'll take care of this alone. Please."

Simon was silent. But he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

Ten minutes later, they were both seated inside the car after a tiresome argument. Leonard couldn't persuade his son and had to take him along. If being there with him was going to ease his mind even a little, then he had no reason to object Simon's plea.

Leonard reached for his son's hand and pats it. 

Simon looks into his father's eyes and so does his father, it was indeed a sight to behold. The powerful bond between a father and a son could be seen and the trust they had for one another showed in each other's gazes.

They drove off to the port where they were supposed to meet the others.

Upon reaching, Leonard stops Simon from getting out of the car and warns him "if anything...anything at all happens tonight, you must look out for your safety first. Do you understand?"
"Promise me son."

"I promise." Simon answered firmly.

"Good. Let's go."
Leonard looked grieved like any other father would because he was placing his very own son at risk tonight.

Big trunks of cases containing arms and loads of heroine soon came in from a number of boats that had everyone on their toes.

Butler Lee stood silent and distressed as he recalled the incident six years ago after Simon left the room.

Simon's father Leonard had a dark past. He was an illegal smuggler before he got married into the Royals. Leonard had indeed left his old life soon after he fell in love with Simon's mother Diana but his past came haunting for him again.

Leonard got himself into trouble and was threatened by some petty smugglers who he once worked with.
Now he couldn't expose himself by involving the law because he bore the Royals' name and he couldn't taint it. Resorting to take it upon himself, Leonard thought he would clean the mess in silent but soon after, his son found out and got involved too.

Thinking about that night again sent shivers down his spine. As Butler Lee made his way towards the door, his phone beeped signalling the emergency red light that glowed rapidly.

Butler Lee rushed out in terror immediately.
