Simon rushed to Winter as soon as he got off the phone with his father. He cautiously stood by the door frame and saw his little lover spill her tears silently. The anger in his chest surged, his knuckles turned white.
Was she hurting because of him? Did she abhor him now that she knew the truth?
....Or was her heart aching for somebody else ? He prayed it wasn't the latter. He'd rather see her cry and be hurt because of him and not anybody else
Simon silently approached her and hugged her in his warm embrace. They stay in that position for a while wishing everything was okay.
"Don't hate me" spoke Simon, breathing hard into the crook of her neck. "Please don't hate me."
Feeling Winter was trying to gently push away from him, Simon hugged her body even more closer to him.
"Simon let go."
"..."
"Simon!" Came Winter's muffled voice. "We need to talk."
"You're tired. Let's call it day."
"We can't sleep through this Simon, we can't avoid having this conversation any longer. Look at what it has gotten us into."
"I don't see a need to talk. What's there to talk about though?" Simon spoke nonchalantly as if everything was okay.
"...."
"Winter I'm hungry. Make me something to eat, hmm?"
"I have something to say."
"What about my favourite pasta? I'll help you out today."
"I said I have something to say."
"No, you don't. Come on get up...."
"....Simon!" Winter snapped.
"...what's wrong? Why are you being like this?" He wanted to sound normal but his hoarse voice gave him away.
"This is all my fault."
"......What? No" his eyebrows furrowed. "Don't cry please...."
"Yes, it is and if only I had been clear and open about my feelings to y..."
"Stop."
"....about Theodore...this conversation....if he's okay..."
"I said stop!" He couldn't clearly understand what she was saying the moment she mentioned the name Theodore to him. Everything looked blurry and the room seemed to keep spinning and spinning.
Once he recollected himself, he smashed his fist into the wall over and over again. Hurting himself when he was triggered became a daily vice. His knuckles were bruised and red but he felt numb.
Winter hurriedly clung onto his arm to stop him.
"Don't do this...."
She pulled him to face her "you have to take care of your body. You can't fall ill, for my sake."Hearing her cajole him and caressing his back seemed to calm him down a little albeit he still wanted to vent out his frustrations.
"Why do we need to have this conversation?" Simon was fuming.
"We need this Simon."
"I dont."
"Hear me out, will you?"
"I can't. How can I when I know you're going to leave me once you've said what you need to."
"I'm not leaving."
"I'm scared you will disappear again."
"...."
"Alright. Let's have this talk. What about it? Huh? Are we going to talk about how you had developed feelings for somebody else or about how you still miss him? You regret coming back to me, don't you?"
"How can you say that?"
"I thought you promised me that you'd always be mine."
"I am..."
"Then why? WHY HIM out of all people? Why'd you have to fall for him....I ONLY get to have your love. Not him. Not anybody else! Simon Abbadon doesn't share.....not when it comes to you." He whispered the last sentence.
"It's all my fault."
"Will you stop apologising? It makes me feel even worse. You make me doubt your feelings for me."
"I wish I had been honest with you in the beginning. None of this would have happened. We could have avoided this problem. I didn't know back then that my silence would lead to this." Winter continued, "if only I had confessed...we'd have talked it out peacefully. I should've reached Theo and explained everything to him. He...he didn't know about you. I never told him."
Afraid he would harm Simon.
"This is all my fault. It is.""Winter it doesn't matter. This was bound to happen. I knew. I knew everything but I chose to ignore it because I didn't want to see you waver. I avoided bringing up the past so that you would forget him. I didn't like the idea of sitting with you and having the talk about another man. With my anger issues, my jealousy doesn't really help. The best I could do was tolerate. Only for you."
"I always make you go through so much." Winter caressed Simon's face.
He leaned in to her touch.
"I still have some things to confess but I think its enough for today."
The ambiance looked much better than before. They felt more at ease after learning what they had been hiding.
"Simon..."
"Hmmm?"
"....I can prevent this. Will you let me?"
"How?"
"Let me talk to Theo."
"Hell no!"
"Maybe he'll listen to what I have to say. Trust me. Let me change his mind."
"This will be the last time I say this Winter. You are never going to meet him or talk to him again. If you do, you'll find my dead body at your feet!"
Simon picked the vase beside him and threw it on the wall harshly. "D@mn it! You are not allowed to love anybody but me Winter!!" Simon screamed.
