What's going on?

Explosions sounded outside, the SHEILD alarms blaring red. I turned to see Loki's face lit up with a bright smile.

"This is your doing I presumed."

"Why of course darling." He smirked. "Our time together had been much fun. But it's time for me to take my leave."

I snorted. "How are you suppose to do that? I'm not leaving." With a swift flick of a wrist, I slashed out my katana. "I'm keeping guard."

Loki continues to paced around the cage, not keeping his eyes and smile off me. I lifted my mask up to my mouth and scanned the area.

Suddenly, the front door burst opened.

"Loki-"

Before the men couldn't even take another step in, my blade was fixated on their necks. But it was just that blonde avenger and Mr Coulson.

"M-Maki! It's just us." Thor explained.

I let my blade hung loose and placed it back in its sheath.

"I humbly apologise Mr Coulson." I bowed.

"What about me..?" Thor started but we ignored him and went back to Loki, who was chuckling at Thor.

"My my I have visitors. You may take your leave now Ms assassin."

I glared at him, not saying a word. I'm definitely not leaving.

"We just wanted to check on things here." Phil explained.

"I'm fine on my own sir you can leave it to me." I replied.

"Loki is full of tricks Maki. If he manages to get inside your head things will look very bad on us."

I just nodded in agreement, despite not liking to work as a group.

"Get inside her head you say... aren't you giving me ideas." Loki teased.

"Quiet brother. Your men has caused enough harm to this place then it already is." Said Thor.

"Thor." The god of thunder looked at me, for the first time I spoke to him. It was a cold, short.

"Shut up."

Loki laughed in amusement. "I really do like her. But I guess our play time is up."

"What do you mean by that?" Phil asked. As if on cue, the door exploded in front of our eyes.

My vision went white, my ears started ringing this horrific tune. No. I can't go down. I can't.. keep my guard down.

I fought through my hazy vision and sore body. The explosion did a number to all of us.

Thor slowly got up, being a god he should have enough body strength to handle the explosion. Phil on the other hand, was completely knocked out.

My vision cleared. And that's when I saw....

Loki stepping out of the glass cage. Before I could react a big shadow dashed in front of me.

"Loki!" Thor yelled and flung himself towards Loki. It was a trap. The trap I knew he'd set up if he ever takes a step out. A scream tore out of my lungs, but it was too late for him.

"Thor no!"

Thor flew through his illusion, trapping himself in the walls of unbreakable glass.

"Oh brother. Will you never stop falling for that trick." Loki sneered and pushed a button. The floor below the cage opened, revealing a scenery of the outside.

"Goodbye. Brother." Loki waved at Thor as the whole cage gets shot down to earth.

"No..!" I hurry to get up. My body was wobbling and unbalanced. One of Loki's men passed him his sceptre.

His sceptre could mind wash me. Hand to hand combat would be suicide.

I flicked my wrist, a kunai blade filled each of my fingers. He won't escape. I won't let him escape. That's my sole duty. Without a duty, a failed assassin cannot exist.

I dashed towards him, closing the distance between us. Loki's men blasted me with their guns as he elegantly makes his escape through the front door.

I need to be faster.

With a swift kick on the ground, I jumped and threw the blades to the sides. Each blade stabbed the men right in the head, a clean kill. Without hesitation I threw another at the god of mischief who was still making his way to the exit.

He turned and stopped the blade with his magic. As long as he had his attention on me. He won't be able to escape. Because if he does, his back will be turned.

That's when I'll kill him.

I pulled the second blade from my opposite hand, Loki's eyes widened in shock when it had unexpectedly slashed him in the cheek.

He suddenly realised, wires connected to my wrists are tied to those blades. I could just swing it at him without getting close to his sceptre.

Loki gritted his teeth in anger, knowing my reason for tying the strings.

He knew that I saw this scenario happening. I was smart and cunning. To the point where I had outwitted even him.

The battle rages on, my quick and precisely aimed blades slashing him from left to right. All the god of mischief could do was block my attacks with his sceptre and his magic shields. He knew that if he cuts off one of my wires, the other blade will start flying through his head.

But all wasn't lost for him, in midst of battle, Loki finally gave a small snicker, as if containing his laughter.

My eyes widened. No.

It was an illusion after all.

A loud scream erupted behind me. I turned to see the real Loki stabbing Phil through the chest with his sceptre. My face turned white.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

"Congratulations Ms assassin. Well done." Loki dropped the agent who went limp on the floor.

I couldn't look at him. As soon as my eyes turns towards the body, he might take the chance to strike. I have to resist.

"And I thought I might lose there for a second." Loki gave another stupid smile.

"You will." I quickly pulled out my katana, lashing at him with rage. I could tell that the god was struggling to keep up with the speed of my sword. Loki backed up till the edge of the floor that opened up.

"You will pay for your crimes." I yelled out as I landed my fatal strike, sending me and Loki both toppling down 50 feet from the sky.
