L.L

It has been a week since Tony took y/n's bolster away from her, saying that she shouldn't be having it around in such an old age. He did it, jokingly of course. But to her it wasn't a joke at all. Every Avenger knows about it, a 25 year old assassin using a bolster to sleep. It was ridiculous, childish even. But the truth was that she needed that thing in order for her to sleep. Since young, y/n could never sleep without hugging a certain something. And the past week had been absolute horror to her and she didn't want to show in front of everyone. Thankfully, the person she was rooming with doesn't really interact with others. So whatever y/n does on her floor, he doesn't mind, nor he makes fun of her.

It has been almost a year since he moved in. Even though y/n knew he destroyed like half of New York, she wasn't really bothered by it. Destroying facilities was what she used to do for a living before she became an Avenger. The god doesn't talk much, sometimes doesn't talk at all. But so does y/n. She wasn't really the one for talking. The only thing they ever said to each other was hi byes good mornings or good nights. Sometimes he would ask her how was her mission when she'd come back from one. Y/n would only reply him with a thumbs up or a shrug with a smile. He would do the same when she asked him how his mission went. The first few days when he moved in was his most talkative days. He would ask her how to use different types of 'midgardian contraptions'. But those days are over and he seemed to know how to use almost everything. Some days he would even cook for her as she would for him.

Their friendship was silent to say the least.

Ever since the first day Tony took her sleeping material, she couldn't sleep. She was tired, yes. Tired, closed eyes, but not asleep. It was no use. Y/n tossed and turned every night, just to get up to the kitchen for coffee and sit on the couch till she drifts off from tiredness. Sometimes she would stay awake till sunrise if she could. Loki would always wake up the earliest and these days he would see her either snoozing on the couch or watching the sun rise. It was starting to be a daily routine and it was bothering him that y/n wasn't getting enough sleep as she used to, maybe no sleep at all.

One night, the god had a nightmare. He always had these from time to time but this time it was haunting him, preventing him from sleeping. He got out of bed, planning on not sleeping for the rest of the night and hoping to not see y/n not taking any rest.

Loki walked out, her sitting figure on the couch in the dark was processing in his blurry mind. He knew y/n wasn't sleeping once again and he sighed, causing her to turn her head and realise the god's presence. She put her knees up against her chest and wrapped her arms around them, her eyes staring down towards the carpeted floor.

As soon as she broke eye contact with him he walked towards the kitchen, making a cup of coffee for himself.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" Loki asked in concern as he sat on the couch next to her, placing his cup on the coffee table.

"I could ask the same to you." Y/n spoke.

He sighed and ran his finger's through his jet black hair. "You know you could.. tell me what's wrong." He said and leaned one elbow on top of the couch.

Y/n was a little suspicious and surprise at the same time by his sudden gratitude. "No. Nothing's wrong." She mumbled, wrapping her arms tighter around her legs.

"You're lying." He said, and y/n head turn up to meet his smirk. She grunts and immediately faced back down onto the floor. This made Loki frown a little as he shifted closer to her curled up self. "I just want to help you."

Y/n looked at him once more. Loki Laufeyson wants to help me? A mere mortal as he used to called me when he first came?

She thought and put her words carefully together before she could blurt her thoughts out loud. "Why do you want to help me?"

"Because.." He stammers and y/n couldn't help but laugh. Loki sees the smile that he had finally placed on her face and chuckled together with her. He has never truly seen her laugh before. No on has ever made her, until now.

Y/n's laughter died down. She looks back at Loki who had a smile plastered on his face as he stared at her in admiration. She blushed, and her eyes snaps back to the floor before he could see her reddened face.

"I have.. it's kinda called a condition." She began, and felt Loki's gaze still stuck on her while taking a sip of his coffee. "I can't sleep, unless Im hugging something. And Tony took my bolster away from me so-"

"Stark is an imbecile and a fool to not see the nights you had suffered because of him." Loki almost growled and got up, as if he was going to walk right into Tony's room and beat the crap out of him.

Y/n grabbed his hand before he could walk another step. As his head whipped behind to see her shaking her head in disapproval the god's stern face softens as he sat back down.

"I'm truly sorry y/n." He said. His words shocked y/n, who find it weird that he was the one apologising when he did nothing wrong.

"What's there to be sorry about? You didn't do anything wrong.."

"No I.. I feel sorry for you. You didn't deserve these nights. Is there anything I could do for you?"

Y/n felt tears swelling at the corner of her eyes. She was touched by the god's words. No one has ever truly cared about how she felt until now.

"I don't think there is. But thanks anyways Loki." She said with a genuine smile, making Loki's heart flutter and his neck becoming warmer.

"You're welcome.." He said, whilst rubbing the back of his neck that was becoming hotter and hotter by the minute. "You know..you could always sleep with me.." Loki muttered, but not loud enough for anyone to hear.

"What was that Loki?"

"I mean.. would you be able to sleep if you.. possibly um.. hug, a person?" It was so hard to let the words out and he was starting to get afraid if he had said something wrong. He was afraid of the thought of losing her or never speaking to him ever again. Nonetheless the girl just giggled. She had an adorable laugh, he'd give her that. But the way her eyes half closes and the dimples forms at either side of her mouth was something else. To Loki it was one of the most attractive thing about her.

"Yes. Yes I would." She replied with a cheeky smile. "Why? You want to sleep with me? Or is there something more to that offer?" Y/n spoke in a seductive tone, leaning closer before she suddenly burst into laughter, making him blush and slightly aroused by her wrong thinking.

"I'm kidding Loki. Yes, it would be nice if I could hug you to sleep." She said and paused at her words. "That doesn't sound right.. what about.. cuddle?"

Loki chuckled and shook his head before getting up, finishing his coffee. "Come." He beckoned and took y/n by the hand, leading her towards her own bedroom. He gestured her to get in first before he did and placed the sheet on both of them.

Without warning y/n snaked her hands around his waist, wrapping them around his torso and snuggling into his back. Loki's heart beat stopped for a second and processed the feeling she was giving him. Almost immediately y/n's breathing changes and falls asleep, her hands loosening around him. His job was done, he could've leaved, but instead he shifted so that he was facing her. He took in her sleeping form, wondering if he could always fall asleep together with her and see her sleeping like this in the morning after he has done his ways with her.

A smile spreads across the god of mischief's face at the sight of her peaceful face. Boldly, he kisses her forehead, before wrapping his arms around her and falls to a sleep that he could do for eternity. The opportunity to sleep with a gem like her he knew that he could only get once. But maybe there could be other days like this..

If Tony could just keep her bolster forever.
