Loki hasn't fallen head over heels for a girl for quite some time. Even though she was cold and taunting towards him, he couldn't stop thinking about how amazing she was at her own skills. Thinking about her fighting side by side with him made his heart flutter. He didn't just liked her he loved her. He loved how imperfect her life was just like his. He loved how broken she was just like himself. He loved how sexy she looked when she swung her blade.

Most of all, he loved how she cared for him without showing it.

He was only alive for so long deserted in this forest because of Maki. She made shelter, made sure to stock up our food and she even made sure we're safe by keeping guard in the middle of the night if she ever felt something's wrong. Obviously Loki wasn't supposed to know, but one night as he jolted awake from a nightmare he saw Maki standing outside their sleeping area keeping watch. That's what made him fell in love with her even more. The way her hair swayed at the soft wind, the way she gets flustered when she wakes up face to face with him in some mornings.

How cute. He thought. An assassin, cute? Maybe people don't see it the way he sees it.

Maybe he will get his chance with her. It'd seem impossible at the moment. But she has opened up to him and told him things that she had never told anyone in her life. If anyone had a chance with her, the biggest would be himself.

I hope I'm right. He bit his lip at the thought. What if we just don't go back to New York.

What if.. we just stayed here. Together.

"Taro."

Loki called me. I hummed in reply but didn't turn to look at him, my vision still focused on the pot of stew in front of me.

"Do you know what love is?" He asked.

"No." I shortly replied, while stirring the pot.

"It's..." Loki took a brief pause to put his words together. "It's when you see someone, and your heart flutters with joy. And that person is someone you're most comfortable with, someone you can trust and care for."

I kept silent. Love sounds like a fantasy, a dream. It seems impossible. "Sounds like a thing for children."

Loki chuckled. And just a few weeks ago he was so caught up with conquering earth, now he's trying to chase after a girl who is responsible of making him pay for his crimes.

"It sure does." He replied, smiling at her. I gave a small smile back in return. Loki's so different now. He seems less malicious and more genuine as days goes by.

I passed Loki a bowl of mushroom stew and he accepted it. Out of nowhere he quickly pecked a kiss on my forehead.

"Thank you darling." He smiled brightly. I looked at him weirdly again. He keeps doing this. What is his goal?

"S-Stop doing that." My voice cracked. I felt my face and neck turn hot, my eyes unable to look into the good of mischief's. Loki noticed my flustered face and smirk.

"My my falling for me already Ms assassin?" He teased.

I sharply turned around to hide my face. Loki......

"Hmph." I scoffed and sat away from him.

"Look at you being such a child."

"I am not!"

"Hehe defend all you want little Taro."

Urgh. I've never lost composure like that before. But this guy.... really gets on my nerves. And from what I heard he gets on everyone's nerves. That was what I was informed of when I was being appointed to handle him.

"Shut up."

I was starting to lost track how many day's we've been stuck here.

With a sigh I carved another strike across the rock that I've marked our days on. I was starting to wonder if we were really stuck here for good. But we weren't prepared for what's about to happen as the sun sets.

"Taro!" I heard Loki yell out to me, I rushed outside.

Helicopters were flying to our direction, the logo on them were in bright red letters, SHIELD. They managed to find us. My heart was beating rapidly. One part of me was happy that we'd get out of here, the other part of me was worrying about what was going to happen to Loki. I looked at Loki who looked back at me with sad eyes.

"I guess.. This is the end of our little trip Ms assassin." Loki looked at the copters which were coming closer and closer.

"Loki, I'll tell Fury that you had escape. Run, as far away as you can." Loki's eyes widened  in shock at my words. "Run now Loki." I pleaded.

"Taro...." he walked up to me with a hand on my cheek. "I'm not leaving you."

My heart stopped. No. He must leave. They... they'll kill him! No matter what!

"But Loki can't you see? They'll detain you they... they'll kill you!!" Tears held steady at the corner of my eyes. Loki just smiled warmly.

"I won't run away from my actions y/n. Not anymore."

Loki let's go of my cheek as soon as the helicopters have made a stop on top of us. String ladders unfolded gracefully as the heavily armed SHEILD agents arrived one by one.

All of them held their guns out to Loki, who had his hands up in surrender.

"Loki..."

Not long after, Nick Fury had arrived as well.

"Well done keeping him detained agent Maki." said Fury as he gestures his other agents to cuff up Loki.

"No..." my eyes never left Loki and I watched as he was placed in handcuffs and slowly forced into one of the helicopters.

"Let go of him!" I lashed out. Fury held me back but I didn't stop fighting.

"Stop it agent. You are obviously under his mind control."

"I am not!" I pushed Fury away and held a kanai up against his neck. All the surrounding agents aimed their guns at me, but Fury gestures them to not engage.

"I won't give up!" I screamed in agony, I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. My vision blurred, but I could feel Loki was watching my outburst. "I've never felt this way before.."

Fury stayed calm, not moving an inch away from the kanai that was still held against his neck. "I've never... been given a stupid nickname like Taro before... and I've never... met someone who gets on my nerves like that before... and I've never...."

"Loved someone before."
