I finally made it through the day. Mom had sent me many messages assuring me that it would be no issue if I wanted her to come and get me. I told her several times that I was fine, and after a while she either believed me or decided to leave the matter be.
I had just finished sending out another message to her when something ran into the classroom. I looked up as two figures came rushing up to me. It took me a second to realize what happened. I blinked and stared at Kageyama and Hinata. They were huffing and puffing as they bent over in front of me, catching their breaths. A few seconds passed and Hinata jumped up at me, smiling.
"Hey (L/n)-san you want to come to practice again?" He asked excitedly.
"Baka! I was going to ask her that!" Kageyama shoved him.
"Well, I got here first so I got to ask her!" He shoved him back.
They both ignored me and continued pushing one another. I crossed my arms, glaring at the two boys. When that wasn't enough to get their attention, I began tapping my foot. A few seconds later both stopped moving and turned to me. Kageyama had Hinata in a headlock and Hinata was biting onto Kageyama's free arm.
I gave them a blank look and they let go of one another.
"Sorry (L/n)-san." Both boys grumbled, bowing slightly. I ruffled their hair and smiled at them. They both blushed at my actions. They were both just so cute.
"So, uh...do you want to come?" Kageyama asked, still blushing.
I looked between the both of them and pretended to think. I brought my finger up and began tapping my chin. I looked around the room for a moment before turning back to them.
"Well?!" Hinata asked. His big eyes were widened in anticipation. Kageyama, all though typically stoic, looked at me with hope in his blue eyes.
I gave them a thumbs up and a smile.
Hinata jumped at least a foot in the air and Kageyama clenched his fist at his side at the excitement. Though, I'm not sure that he noticed I saw.
"You had me going there for a minute (L/n)." Hinata shook his head at me.
I smiled and just shrugged. They both laughed at me, and we began our walk towards the gym.
I stayed and watched practice, just like I did yesterday. Even though I had already witnessed the amazingness of the team, I was still baffled by it all. Each player had their own incredible ability and different strengths. From Hinata's jump to Nishinoya's receives. Even Tanaka's enthusiasm was in itself admirable. I know I wouldn't be able to stay positive if I missed a spike or a receive. Though, I could probably live without Tanaka taking his shirt off every time he scored.
I didn't realize it, but I was softly smiling at the sight in front of me. They were all so determined. Determined to get better, stronger, to soar together towards greatness.
"What are you thinking about (L/n)?" Kiyoko asked. She had been watching you for a while, wondering why your smile seemed almost one of melancholy.
I looked over at her. Both she and Yachi were waiting for my response. I typed out on my phone, handing it to Kiyoko who moved closer to Yachi so they could both read the words on the screen.
I just think it's all so surreal. They're all pushing themselves to greater heights. I miss that feeling.
Before either girl could respond Hinata came running over to the bench.
"(L/n)-san! The senpais are going to treat us to meat buns when we're finished with practice. You want to come?" I blinked at his sudden intrusion. I looked past him to see the three third years looking at me. I arched a brow at them, silently asking if that was okay.
