Chris's POV

Tonight an occasion is going to be held, not of us but a close relative of ours. It is my favorite uncle's anniversary with his dear wife.

There is no way on earth that my parents were going to stay back and not attend the ceremony. And for that reason, my wife and I were going to live under the same roof for a week.

It sounded amazing but when I remember what happens to me most nights and mornings, I retracted my over-excitement.

I've tried so many times to wake up before she does and I think it works just fine. It would be the highest level of embarrassment to see me in such a state.

Eddy was changing in the bathroom but it took too long to be classified as that. I know women took long to get dressed but I doubt it took this long.

Honestly I was impatiently waiting, wondering what in the world would keep her in there for so long. If not for the occasional ruffling in the bathroom, I would've worried.

It took me back to when she gifted me on my birthday a few months back. It took her almost the whole night before she could bring it out. I was shocked at first to see she had a gift with her but stayed that long to bring it out into the open.

The thought caused me a slight snigger. She could be shy at times and looked so cute when she was.

My thoughts were cut shut when the door was unlocked and she slowly stepped out into the room.

I gulped seeing her. I was sure I had stopped breathing the moment I set my eyes on her.

She stiffed, her eyes that were on me drifting to the side. As much as I wanted to lessen her insecurities by stopping the stare, I couldn't get my eyes off the goddess in front of me.

She looked breathtaking and was definitely going to look best at the ball. I stared from her exposed shoulders to the covered heels on her feet.

The dress she wore was outstandingly gorgeous. Her shoulders were bare from the slack designed short sleeves. Her neck was ornamented with fine pearls. It did a fine job at complimenting her outfit.

I watched in admiration as the dress hugged her curves, cascading as a waterfall from her knees down to the floor.

Taking steps towards her, I subconsciously placed my hand under my chin as I circled her. She followed my movement, judging by her head turning, confused as to what I was doing.

"Is it good?" She asked, her voice meek and highly insecure as it shook.

She looked absolutely stunning.

"You look breathtaking," I answered, my focus on her.

And her hair was pulled to a large middle bun that added to her formality. The few tendrils that fell down her temples made her look delicate. She was… Impeccable.

I never knew she had this great taste.

"Will you dance with me?" I asked, stretching forth my hand as a gentleman.

Shyly, she placed her right on mine, her other hand on my right shoulder. The jewelry glittered into my eyes and a smile stretched on my lips. Her wedding band suited her finger beautifully, I must admit.

Taking a step closer, I placed her left hand on my shoulder while I draped mine on the dip of her waist.

"I'm not really good, okay? I kinda have forgotten the steps." She tittered, looking away.
