Settling In/New Times

Since, of course, the Netherlands are six hours ahead of Florida, it was slightly unsettling to leave in the morning from the States, and land in the morning in Holland. (that doesn't really make sense, go with it)

...

Fundy was in the front seat, because he was the one who obviously knew the way to his house, and honestly, I would be a quite scared if he didn't know the way to his house.

We pull up to a nice sized white house, and I get out, reaching to grab my bags. Fundy goes up the steps to the front door, and his face pales. "Fun- I mean Floris, are you alright?" I ask, questioningly, since this poor man looks terrified.

"...I forgot to tell my dad you were coming..."

"..."

"Floris Fundy, the furry, the attempted murder of Mr. Jack Manifold, Mr. Save the Cat, the house is on fire, dad no I'm doing lore FORGOT TO TELL YOUR DAD THAT SOMEONE WAS COMING?!?"

"...yes?"

"This... will be interesting. If I die it's your fault." I quip.

".. that seems reasonable."

I sigh. This ... oh my god.

A man, about 40, with Floris's ginger hair, minus the white, steps out the door.

"Who's this? Did you forget to tell me you had a girlfriend?"

"NO!" Floris sputters.

"One of his friends made a dare to invite one random donor to spend a week in the Netherlands, and he accepted, and I was said lucky donor." I attempt to calmly explain to the man, who I'm just going to call Mr. Damen out of politeness, because I don't know him or his name, but I know that Damen is Fundy's last name (yes. This is his actual last name. this took a bit of research to find. I be dedicated)

"Oh, well then. It's nice to meet you...?"

"Oh! Sorry! My name is Y/N!"

"Well it's nice to meet you then Y/N. You can call me Will."

( this is a play on the DSMP, because Fundy is Wilbur's son, and because I don't know Fundy's dad's name. No, this is not an AU within the DSMP, he just happens to be named William.)

We step inside, and it's just as nice on the inside as it is on the outside. A cat wanders up cautiously and nudges my legs.

"Awh! What's its name?" I excitedly asked Floris.

"Her name is Boots, she might hiss a bit, but she'll warm up quickly"

(I changed it, because I was thoroughly unaware that Cat's name was actually Boots...oops)

Success! I have located the cat!

Fundy shows me to the guest room, my room for the next week or so, I guess. It's a very nice setup, with white pallets adorning the walls to make them appear wooden, a window and white curtain, a large bed with light gray and blue decorations, a mirror, and a set of white wicker furniture. He sits down in one of the chairs and just exhales a bit.

"Alright. We're doing this. Feel free to unpack and explore or whatever. I'mma do a stream later, you can join if you're not feeling too jetlagged."

Pog. I can do that. I tell Fundy so, and he leaves, leaving me to get unpacked. I put on a pair of sleep shorts and a t-shirt and flop down on the bed. I chill for a couple hours, then walk downstairs. Mr. Damen – sorry, Mr. Will, is in the kitchen cooking something, and it smells amazing, whatever it is.

"I'm making Stroopwafel! Do you want one?" he asks. "Ooh, that sounds really good! Sure!" I say.

(Stroopwafels are essentially sweeter, baked waffles. They're really, really good, and they tend to be in stores around Christmastime in America, sometimes called Pizelles.)

I take my food back up to my room, and a couple minutes later, Fundy knocks on the door. I've honestly just decided to call him Fundy when thinking about him because it makes it easier.

"Stream's starting in two hours, I thought we might could have you try some Dutch candies?"

"ooh. That actually sounds really cool!" I say. He confirms, then leaves to go get the candies, so that I couldn't see them and research them before the stream.

...

I jump into the shower so I don't look like a wreck on stream, then choose a pale pink top made of soft material and a white skirt.

I brush and style my hair, then go to Fundy's room and knock softly on the door.

"Floris? You ready for me to come in?"

He opens the door and kinda zones out for a sec.

"...earth to furry, earth to furry, are you here?" I say, waving a hand in front of him. "screw you for the furry comment. Glad we're not on stream, chat would be having a field day." He grumbles. "but yes, I'm ready. Come on in."

He starts the stream, introduces me, and shows me the selection of sweets that I would be trying.

"We have Jelly Babies, peppermints, fruit toffees, licorice, coffee candy, Anta Flu, which is technically a cough drop, but that's totally irrelevant, Alex Meijer Soft Mint Pillows, Schuimblokken (hard foam candy blocks) and finally, Chupa Chups."

Oh boy.

"I'll go with ... the coffee candy first. I need caffeine." Essentially it was like really sweet, hardened coffee.

Next was the Jelly Babies, which sounded absolutely disgusting, but turned out to be basic gummi bears. The name threw me off though and made it disgusting.

Fruit toffees literally healthier versions of the Tootsie Fruit things.

Schuimblokken was the oddest thing I've ever tried. It was sweet, but not super sweet, and it felt as if you were biting into one of those gigantic foam blocks found in daycare centers.

The mint pillows were wonderful. My new favorite candy. Gentle mint. Someone draw it as an anime boy and I'd probably marry it.

Anta Flu was terrible. It was literally a cough drop, and on top of it all, reminded me of that horrible sick feeling. Yuck.

The Chupa Chups, my beloved, were sweet, overpriced lollipops, and mwah, chef's kiss.

And finally, the licorice. It was ... licorice. Best way I have to describe it.

...

Three hours later, I was on a sugar high, and the stream was over. I said goodnight to Fundy, headed upstairs to bed, and sighed.

The stream was more than trying candy. Fundy and I got closer. Lots of jokes, laughs, general funniness.

I like him. And I'm not sure how to feel about it.

Very very very brief Fundy POV:

The stream was really fun, and I'm happy I picked someone with a personality. I think I'm starting to like her, a lot. And it terrifies me a little. I don't want to be rejected, but I don't want to feel like this in secret forever..

Well shit.

Hello my wonderful people, I just started college in person for the first time ever, and I'm trying to balance my classes and workload along with my job and sports, so updates will be slow for a while, I'm looking for the next one to be out in time for Christmas, maybe a little earlier if I have time.

Thank you for staying with me and reminding me to update! I love you all! <3
