Chapter 6: Finding the Right Gem.

The next day all the guys woke up before the girls and went to the Mighty Mutanimals headquarters to discuss their plans for getting the gemstones for the engagement rings they want to give to their true loves.

Silver was the last to arrive and all the guys looked at him and noticed him smiling.

"So Silver I noticed that you're in a good mood. Care to tell us why?" Shadow asked impatiently.

Silver sat down next to Donnie and Raph and said "Oh nothing, I've just decided that I'm going to propose to Starlight Glimmer." He said dreamily.

Sonic looked at his brother Manic, and they both smiled as they looked at Silver, "Okay we'll we're very happy for you Silver." Sonic said. "Yeah man." Manic said as well.

"So anyway back to our meeting, now that we all have chosen someone to marry, we need to go and pick our precious stones and metals to make the engagement rings for them." Donnie said, telling all the guys what the next step of the ceremony was.

Timber was confused though. "But Donnie there are no gem mines that we can use in New York." He said.

Donnie smiled "Well Timber you're right, there are no gem mines here, but Agent Bishop has informed me of an abandoned gem mine in South Africa, that has gems that were never dug up before the mine was closed deep underground. " Showing them a map of South Africa on the table with the location of the mine circled.

Slash smiled "Great, but how are you even going to get there?" He asked.

Donnie smiled "Well Bishop was kind enough to let us borrow an Earth Protection Force ship just for the occasion." Donnie explained the plan.

All the other guys looked at each other and smiled "Alright let's go and hunt for some gems." Leo said he and the other guys went to TCRI, got into the ship Bishop managed to get for them and flew to South Africa. They arrived a day later and then found the mine.

After several hours of digging each of the guys found a gemstone to give to the girls. Leo found Twilight a purple topaz, Raph found Sunset an orange diamond, Donnie found Rarity a purple diamond, Mikey found Pinkie a pink diamond, Casey found Applejack an orange topaz, Slash found Fluttershy a yellow sapphire, Leatherhead found Alopex a white diamond, Timber found April a green diamond, Sonic found Rainbow dash a blue diamond, Shadow found Sonia a pink sapphire, Knuckles found Rouge a red ruby and Manic found Sally a blue sapphire. Mikey and Manic even managed to find some gold and silver to use for the frames of the rings.

"Alright it looks like we're done here. But where's Silver?" Leo asked.

Silver, meanwhile, was down deeper into the mine still trying to find Starlight the perfect gem.

"Come on, the perfect gem has to be here somewhere." He said as he looked through the rocks and dirt trying to find the perfect gem.

"Silver, come on, we're leaving!" Raph shouted which caused Silver to stop looking.

Silver sighed "Okay Raph I'm coming!" Silver shouted back.

As he walked back he was sad because he didn't find the perfect gemstone to give Starlight. He sighed "I just wish I could find Starlight the perfect gem to give to her." He said quietly.

Then before he knew it a huge rock had hit him on the head. Silver rubbed his head where the rock had hit him and then he looked at the rock and dusted it off.

It turned out to be a beautiful purple sapphire that absolutely simmered underneath his helmet's light.

He smiled "Could this be..." He asked out loud as he stared into the gem and he could see Starlight smiling at him.

Silver smiled; he then packed the gem in a bag he had brought and raced back to his friends.

Donnie then told them the next step. "Okay now that we each picked out the perfect gemstone and had gotten some metals for the frame of the rings as well as some white diamonds for details. We just need to take them to a designer to have them made into rings, luckily Rarity told me about her cousin Ruby in Pennsylvania, she can easily turn these stones and metals into what we want." He explained.

All the other guys smiled "Okay then let's go." Raph said as they all made their way back to the ship, happy they found the perfect gems to give to their true loves.

Especially Silver, who couldn't wait to ask Starlight that important question.
