So I guess you wanna know how I got over my ex, right? Are you certain? I mean, it's not pretty. I was a blubbering mess with knotty hair and there were tears and snot and watching The Phantom of the Opera at least four times a week.
Don't forget the chocolate. And the zits that accompanied the chocolate. I pretty much lived in my pajamas and during this fragile state anything could set me off. A puppy, a rainbow, cereal. Boom. Suddenly, tears. Anyway, before we get to that pretty picture, we should go back to the start.
It all began on a beautiful, sunny day. You know, one of those days where you wake up and you just feel like it's gonna be a pretty amazing day. Turned out my feeling was way off that day but that morning I had no clue.
As the sun was shining through my little dorm window, I got up, had some cereal and curled my blonde hair. I was feeling pretty confident. Proof? I was wearing a skirt. I don't usually wear skirts. It was a bright blue skirt because a magazine once told me it would match my blue eyes. It might've been a lie. It made me feel like someone in a kinder garten school play dressed as a flower.
My roommate, Jane, groaned something right before I left our beloved dorm room. I usually didn't get anything out of her before 10 AM or before she had a strong cup of black coffee. She wasn't a morning person at all and she definitely didn't like my quirky personality during the morning.
I had to admit, my good mood had tempered a bit after an entire day of classes. College could be very tiresome. My ooh-pretty-day-feeling got confirmed when my professor cut the class short for no apparent reason. Like an instant shot of happiness, I got up and decided to visit my boyfriend. I'd been looking forward to this part of the day the entire time. Unlike me, Chris didn't have class at all that day. I knew because we had a shared calendar. Yep, things were pretty serious between the two of us.
We were high school sweethearts. He caught my eye when I was fifteen and we'd been an item ever since. It was true love though, the real deal. Everyone in our town knew that we were gonna grow old together so it was no surprise when we decided to go to the same college. We'd left everyone and moved three states away. It was kinda hard and sometimes I did miss my mom even though it wasn't cool to admit that.
It had been a new start for Chris and I. A new town, a new school and a new home. My parents were pretty old fashioned so we weren't allowed to live together in a dorm room but we lived in the same building so I didn't mind.
I decided to surprise Chris. He knew I was coming over but because class had been cut short I was half an hour early. I pretty much skipped across campus to get to our dorm building. My pale legs were probably gonna be burned by the five minutes of sun I was getting but I ignored the poor state of my legs. Not that day. It was a good day.
As I got to his dorm room I got the key and opened the door. Yes, I had a key. Told you we were pretty serious. We were practically married. I mean, a shared calendar and a key, what more could you want?
I slowly opened the door but I didn't see anyone. I suddenly heard something and figured my guy was taking a nap in his bed. He did that sometimes because he liked to stay up late.
Although what I witnessed wasn't quite what I'd been expecting. True, he was in his bed. To my surprise, he wasn't alone. He was lying on his back and a girl was straddling him. They were both naked if you didn't count the bra the girl was still wearing. It was a nice bra though, a dark purple one with lace.
At this point I was pretty shocked. It was supposed to be a good day and now it was screwed (no pun intended) by my boyfriend doing it with another girl! And there I was, as if I were glued to the spot. My jaw had dropped and my eyes were ready to fall on the floor too. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
