The Escape: Part 1

"Are you ready?"

I give Brenna a nervous smile. "Honestly? No." I take a quick look around the crowded auditorium in search of Seth. I spot him talking with Everett, and a smile grows on my lips at how handsome he looks in his gown and cap. "But for him, I'll be ready." I said, not taking my eyes off him.

Seth eyes meets mine from across the room, he gives me a smirk, mouthing 'I love you'. I playfully roll my eyes, before mouthing, 'I love you, too' back.

"I want this to work for you. No one has ever tried to go against their fate with the Luciano's, and the fact that you are, makes you so much more than what you believe you are, Raven." Brenna says with a sniffle.

I blink at her, lost for words. "Brenna, I....uh...." I chuckle nervously, "I don't know what to say....you've grown to show me what true sisterhood is, and I'm glad I can get to call you a friend."

She rapidly fans her face, "Bitch, you're gonna make me cry and mess my makeup up." We both laugh at that. Brenna takes my hands in hers, "You don't have to say anything. I just....I realize now that all this is for love and it makes me so happy that you're not scared to be there for him. The both of you." She gives me a watery smile, her plump lips trembling, "You've become someone I can consider a real friend. I love you, girl."

I blink back tears. I open my mouth to say something I hope is as heart felt, when our principal announces it's time for us to make our way to our assigned seats for the graduation ceremony to begin. Brenna gives me one last smile before pulling away.

I watch her walk away in a daze until someone's shoulder bumps into mine, knocking me out of my thoughts. And as I make my way to the front to my seat, I couldn't help but feel like this is the last time I'll ever see or hear form Brenna Wilson again.

                            ~~><~~

After a few hours of boring speeches from our principal, teachers and the guest speaker, it was now time for us to collect our diplomas one by one. I sit up a little straighter in my seat, knowing that the time to put the plan into action is near.

Of course, my name would be one of the few that will be called first, making this so much easier. My eyes scan the row of seats behind me; my eyes unexpectedly catching Naomi's gaze. A devious smirk tugs at her lips...her eyes seaming to say all that she didn't need to.

I keep my face carefully blank, before flashing her my finger. She raises a brow before rolling her eyes, the smirk never leaving her face.

I turn just in time to hear my name being called by our principal, "Raven Abner." I stand slowly, my hands shaking slightly from nervousness. As I make way to the raised dias, I couldn't help but laugh under my breath at Seth and Brenna's loud cheers over the polite applause from the crowd.

"You did it girl! Go friend!"

"That's bae!"

I blush a little at Seth's words. With a small smile, I shake hands with the guest speaker, whose name I forgot, took my diploma and made my way to the end of the stage. I didn't miss the knowing look the principal shot my way, and my cheeks burn again.

If people weren't sure about us being back together a couple weeks ago, then they sure knew now.

As I take my seat, I didn't miss the green eyed looks that some of the girls shot my way. I openly roll my eyes at them. Bitches.

The ceremony seemed to drag on for what felt like for hours on end. You could noticable see the persons the crowd reacted to when it was their turn. It was a standing ovation when Naomi, Brenna, Seth and Everett went for theirs. Although, no one could have been louder than me when I saw my handsome man getting his.
