This dude was really getting on my nerves. I was surprised though. I expected him to run off and go back to his nerd pack as soon he saw us, but he had the nerve to spit in my freakin' face. The idiot, he had no idea what he was letting himself in for.

But at least he put some of his geek smarts to use. Before I got the chance to take my revenge and make sure he would end up in hospital for a week, he opened that big mouth of his.

"Look, where not going to get anywhere fighting. You might as well just leave. Jade obviously doesn't want you here and neither do I "

I simply looked at him, my face giving away nothing. The freak didn't deserve an answer. Living in that big mansion of his, he didn't know the first bit of what suffering actually was. I bet he never had to steal just feed his little brother; starve so his family didn't. After strutting through our neighbourhood with his designer clothes he deserved every bone we broke of his.

"Both of you just stop it!" I looked over to see Jade standing there with a furious expression on her face. I hoped she would tell geek to go away. After all, I was like her. She and I both have to suffer in our lives to survive. Surely she can see that she was meant to be with me. What she gonna do with a a messed up rich kid like him. " Connor, Eric's right. I do not want you near me".

I refused to look surprised, but inside I was screaming. A smug expression came over the geek's face, the snob. But thankfully it didn't last for long. I didn't know if I could keep myself from keeping my fist away from his face any longer. "Eric, I am more than capable of taking care of myself. Like I told you before, I don't want anymore favours. The geeks face dropped and this time, I couldn't keep myself from smiling. I didn't want him to walk off first - it would make it seem like he was in charge - so as soon as Jade turned around, I walked off.

It was easy enough. There was a half hidden path up a small hill, with blackberry bushes on one side. Then there was a low dilapidated stone wall. Nothing was precise here. Nature had just been let loose and left free to grow in every direction it wanted to. I enveyed it. It had nobody and nothing to worry about.

I laughed coldly, without a trace of humour as I found my way home. Before, I had just caught the bus in time as I saw the Eric through the window. I had to get back at him, but I was smart enough to know not on the bus. So I waited. As soon as the bus stopped though, he got lost in the crowd. I had given uo by then but I wanted someplace I could just be alone. You know, get away from everyone else.

But no, out of all the people in this country it had to her that was there. It had to be Jade. Such a pretty name for such a pretty girl. She's more than pretty, I thought. You're just too scared to admit it. Like she was scared of you. I didn't know the hell why. Whenever I tried to get close, I pushed her even further away. I know it wasn't fair on her, but damn! I wasn't used to feeling like this....

I remembered what happened all those years ago, the first, but not last, time I hurt her

The first time I played with her heart

I had no idea what was going on. Mum had just left, probably wouldn't be back for a while now. Dad was lying 6 feet under the ground somewhere. What kinda life was this?
