A/N: I am going to have to make this chapter a two parter. Almost at my chapter word limit and this was suppose to be out a week ago.
Walking on the abandoned route in hopes to catching up and reunite with your friends you and alongside Nathaniel have your weapons drawn out to fire at a moments notice at any of the suppose dangers let it be Grimm or any of the human kind. Nathaniel and you were in agreement that it was rather surprising how none of you encounter any criminals elements besides that one encounter. Especially now as to some it may seem like the beginning of the end with the fall of Beacon Academy and in such a manner during such a highly publicize event with Atlesian Knights joining in no less.
Nathaniel: We haven't seen anything. You think that guy was lying?
Y/N: Well could've been overblown or just stopped.
Nathaniel: I don't man. It's just it's been quiet... too-
Nathaniel cuts himself off seeing a large man
in armor carrying a light machine gun. Nate immediately grabs out and deploys a ballistic shield. You going behind him for cover while being able to make use of your assault rifle if needed. Walking slowly the figure eventually saw you two and spoke up.
Greenpine Militia Member: What the hell are kids doing here? This route is off limits!
Looking at Nathaniel he takes the hint and puts away his ballistic shield with you your assault rifle.
Y/N: We were told this was a shortcut. That this route would intersect with the other.
The man paces but then sighs.
Greenpine Militia Member: I am sorry but this path is off limits for good reason. We are deploying boobytraps in the wooded areas for the Grimm. All mapped out of course if we do need to take them out.
Y/N: I am sorry but we are looking for our friends. They came through the town.
Greenpine Militia Member: Ahhh. Them. We do not get a lot of visitors so I know who you are talking about. Just remember to stay on the main path, you got that?
Y/N: Yes.
Nathaniel: Yup.
Greenpine Militia Member: I signed up to clear out Grimm. The last thing I would want is finding out one of my traps harmed another. Much less two kids.
Y/N: We'll be sure.
Geeenpine Militia Member : I'm going to go now. Two more will take my place. Just do what I told you and you should be good to go. Good luck finding your friends.
Nathaniel: Thanks.
Greenpine Militia Member: Just keep watch for any Grimm. A few do manage to slip through the traps.
Walking off Nate spoke about the situation.
Nathaniel: For a small town that guy was really decked out.
Y/N: You know how it goes. They are their first and last defense so they have to.
Nathaniel: Huh. Experience?
Y/N: Eh. You know how it goes. Grimm start to gather and threaten a place so people are sent to clear them out. You?
Nathaniel: Nope. Ma was adamant about
not doing that kind of training in Atlas. She said she didn't want to risk our chances with the weather. Practically a death sentence.
Y/N: Been there, done that. Let me tell you it is quite the awful experience.
Nathaniel: Speaking of ma. I need to write her a letter. You know to tell her I'm okay.
