Chapter 16

Lorenzo's POV

What have I done.

I stared down at Emma's seemingly lifeless body.

I slightly lift up her shirt and see the scare I left there.

My fingers traced over my initials I engraved. I felt her body tense up. I look up to see her eyes flutter open slowly.

She locks eyes with me and starts to back away.

" G-g-get away from m-me " she says with fear evident on her face.

I quickly grab her and pull her into a hug. She hisses in pain and I loosen my grip around her.

She starts sobbing uncontrollably. I start muttering sweet nothings into her ear.

" F-Fu*k you " she mutters.

I felt a pang in my heart, but it was understandable. I should've put her the basement.

" I love you " I say kissing her forehead.

Emma's POV

" I love you " he says.

Excuse me ?!

I start to wiggle around, desperately trying to get out of his grasp.

" L-let me g-go you left me down there in the d-dark. I told y-you not to " I say hitting his chest with my fists.

" I know, I'm sorry sweetheart, I should've listened "

He isn't sorry. I know he isn't.

" No you're not, y-you liar " I say raising my voice

" If you were, you would've let me go " I say

" You know I can't do that Emma " he says pushing my head into his chest.

" I love you babygirl, now sleep you're tired " He says using his fingers to comb my hair.

I couldn't fight off the tiredness so I give in and fall asleep.

Dante's POV

I watch as Lorenzo brings Emma up from the basement.

She seemed to be unconscious. So I knew something was wrong. He did something.

Don't get me wrong, Lorenzo is my bestfriend for life, but this is not how a women should be treated.

Especially Emma, she was beautiful, kind, innocent, and funny. I could see why Lorenzo wanted her.

But he doesn't deserve her.

If I could, I'd help Emma escape from him, because at this rate he's going to end up killing her. I couldn't let that happen.

Even after such little time I've spent with Emma, I found myself growing closer and closer to her. I truly cared for her.

It kind of hurt when she thought I told Lorenzo about what happened at school, but if I was in her situation I'd think the same.

I have to protect her, and help her get away from here, but I wish that she could at least stay with me. I've grown fond of her.

The next day~

Emma's POV

I woke up with my whole body aching. I slowly sit up and Turn to look at my side to see Lorenzo sleeping peacefully.

The audacity.

He can sleep peacefully after doing all this to me.
