YEAR: 1957
I woke up the next morning with my ears ringing. It was Jude. I walked into her room to find her buried in a pile of clothes.
"Jude, why are ye yellin?"
"I don't know what to wear!" I rolled my eyes and sat next to her.
"So ye woke me up at 8 in the morning, on a Saturday, just because ye couldn't find an outfit?"
"Yeah I guess I did...sorry."
"Its alright. So what were ye planning on wearing?"
"This." She picked up a halter dress that was too big for her, because it was mine.
"Really? What did I say about taking my clothes?"
"Sorry, I just thought it'd look nice."
"Yer not a rocker."
"I know." She looked down at the mess of clothes she created.
"Here, I'll pick something out for ye." I started digging in the pile of clothes. "What bout this?" I picked out a gray pencil skirt and a white button down blouse and a gray jacket to go with it. She picked out a cute pair of gray slip on shoes. "Hold on, be right back." I walked into my room and picked out a cute little red decorative scarf. "Here." I handed it to Jude and she smiled and hugged me.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it, I'm goin back to bed."
A few hours later I woke back up to someone knocking on the door. I freaked out, thinking it was Paul; I fell out of bed and Jude ran in.
"What's wrong?"
"Paul's at the door!"
"What? No he's not, its just George."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, but ye should start gettin ready. I can tell George to wait, I'll help ye with ye hair and everythin."
"That'd be great. Thank ye."
"Alright, be right back." I heard her thumping down the stairs.
"Hey George."
"Yeah?"
"Would ye mind waitin a little longer bef-" He cut her off.
"Of course we can wait love, I don't need an explanation," he smiled at Jude.
"Thank ye so much," she kissed him on the cheek. "Be back in a jiff." George smiled as she ran back up the stairs.
"OK let's go, I don't want George waitin long." I was already all dressed, and as soon as Jude put some gel in her hand someone knocked at the door; George opened the door.
"Ello, is Michelle here?"
"Yeah she's upstairs I think. My dates upstairs right now helpin her I think."
"Oh you must be George." George smiled and stuck out his hand to introduce himself; Paul shook his hand and smiled back.
"Why do ye have a guitar?"
"Oh John Lennon wants me to be in his band, that's the whole reason I'm goin. Michelle talked me into it."
"Wait, John, junior John?" Paul nodded. "Keep and eye on Michelle when he's around."
"Michelle knows better."
"Alright, if ye say so."
As the boys conversation ended, Jude and I walked down the stairs.
"You both look lovely!" Paul politely said; George was just stunned by Jude.
"You get prettier each time I see ye." Jude began to blush at Georges comment.
"Shall we go?" Paul asked; Jude and I nodded. Paul and I linked arms, George and Jude did the same and we all walked to the fair; it took us a while but we finally arrived.
It was a rather fun day. We played games, ate some junk food, George had more than the rest of us. Jude thought it was the cutest thing ever. Then it was time for the Quarrymen performance. Before they started playing John came to see me.
"Hey love."
"Get lost Lennon, don't ye have some songs to sing?"
"Yeah, I do, just wanted to see ye first."
"OH JOHN!" That red headed lady from the diner came up and hugged John. "Good luck!"
"Thanks mum. Bye Michelle." He winked and walked on to the stage.
When he got up there, he was being an ass. "Where have ye gone?" John waited and stared at his mum. "Oh there ye are!" John laughed and the Quarrymen started playing. I didn't recognize the song, but they weren't half bad. When they finished they packed up and went into a building.
"Hey, you should go, talk to John. Go play for him." Paul nodded and walked into the building.
"Who are ye?"
"Paul."
"Why do ye want to talk to the band?"
"John wanted to see me."
"Alright." The guy lead Paul into the building. "John, this young lad want to talk to ye. He says he plays."
"With himself." Paul stood there on silence. John was drunk off his ass, I don't think he knew who Paul was. "I do, all the time, good for the wrist muscles," John stuck out his hand. "John."
"Paul." They shook hands. "What would ye like."
"Id like that pink carnation, its very dandy, can I borrow it?" John laughed. Paul gave John a look and took out his guitar and started singing. John got jealous while listening to Paul; he cut him off early. "Look, thanks for comin down but we don't need a new member."
"Oh, ok..." Paul walked out, kind of disappointed.
"John," one of the band mates pulled John aside and began talking to him, "he's not in anyone else's band, and he's actually good, let him join."
John ran out of the building, trying to find Paul; eventually he found him. I was no where to be found, I was hanging out with Lucy at her game booth.
"Paul, we want ye in the band. Please, join us. You actually have talent, please, teach me."
"Teach ye what?"
"Teach me how to play guitar, I only know how to play the banjo."
"Fine."
"Great! Thank ye, thank ye so much. Stop by me house tomorrow around 1 o'clock."
"Alright, and John,"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
